Sorry I'm late to the party ( holidays and all). If I may ask, I've an early GS1100 I built up ( 1168 cc, crank blueprint and balance, and used APE studs in anticipation of running Nitrous. I installed a vintage V&H TOE and the rocked box simply flooded with oil at idle while running the engine, filling, and I mean filling, the cam area faster than draining by a large amount. No other mods. were made to oiling system yet (plugging passages, etc.) but I have a set of V&H 750 gears going in when the clutch cover gets pulled.
Should I correct this by metering the oil going to the top end be using a restrictor on the pressure side of the TOE distribution block? Is this excessive oil flow to the top end normal when using top end oil augmentation Thanks in advance for any insight you folks can offer.

As long as there are some seriously taltented folks posting in this thread I have a related question. My turbo oil feed comes from the oil pressure sending unit. My question; can I use that same feed with high volume oil pump gears to feed the top end and most importantly will the turbo still get enough oil? Can I do this without creating a separate oil supply? Its just for looks that I'm doing this, but I dont want to starve the turbo.1981 GS 1100e turbo, 83 motor, turbo pistons, new head, new turbo, backed and welded clutch basket, Dyna S ignition, cbr 929 front end, gsxr 750 rear end with 190 tire, all carbon fiber covered bodywork.

If the turbo take-off is just simply tapped on the pressure sending unit cover then adding top end oiler to the same location probably won't reduce turbo pressure much. Though overral engine oil pressure may drop somewhat due to less restrictive route to the top end. But there are quite many factors possibly affecting to the result. So only simple answer is that you should measure pressure going to the turbo and check it gets at least 30 psi when spooled up. This 30 psi is for typical plain bearing turbos, ball bearing units and some old Rajays may survive with less. And when measuring pressure make sure that the oil is at normal working temperature as pressure varies a lot depending on temp.
