Valve to piston clearance / squish height after milling head gasket surface

    Hey all
Just made this morning a first assembling of the gs 650 head on my bike.

I measured the squish band clearance, and the valves to piston distance, with a classical method (brass 2mm thick part)...

    squish band clearance: 1mm (0.04")
    intake valve / piston distance: 1.7mm (0.07")
exhaust valve / piston distance: more than 2mm (0.08")

The surface is already milled, so I could use the head as it is now, but if there is some margin it's the moment to mill again the gasket surface... What do you think about that? Are these figures ok or is there some margin again?

    thanks

You are fine. I set stuff up tighter than that if I am the one using it & KNOW it won't get abused. Are all of these measurements taken with the head gasket in place?

Yep measurements made with new gasket in place but the screws are note couple tighten so I think it will be a little closer. Do you think that I can mill my head again? I thought milling 0.2mm more...

According to lots of discussions, I removed 0.2mm more. This would increase the CR to 9.9 / 10:1.. decreasing valves to piston clearance to 1.5mm for intake and 1.9mm for exhaust...
