2v 1000 budget cams??

    2v 1000 budget cams??

    I think i read somewhere that gs750 2v cams will swap in the 1000 and that their a little hotter than stock. Can someone confirm this please.

      Meaningless difference. Look up the specs for yourself in the factory service manuals. There have been threads about this subject before too so check the archives for more info as well.

          That's what you said about the 550 and 650 cams, which completely transformed the bike's powerband, and it's also what you said about doing the 650 top end on the 550, which completely transformed the whole machine.
          The difference in the 850 and the 750 is dramatic at higher RPM, and the difference mechanically is that the 850 uses the 1000's lethargic cam timing, and the 750 does not.

          Not everyone worships the stock configuration for everything as you do.

          To the OP, try it and see, it's easy to do and might just work wonders.

            The 750 cams have 4* more duration on the intake and 8* more on the exhaust. Whoop do doo.

              I put a set in my Gs1000, I degreed them at 106. The top end was crisper and seemed to pull better. Would I do it again? Yep, Jerry

                Well i see them on fleebay for around 30 so ill probably do it with adjustable cam sprockets just to see

                    Four degrees is big, eight degrees is huge, but what they are not saying in those specs is how the cam timing is set. A few degrees one way or the other will completely alter the characteristics of any engine. Another thing you would want to compare is her far the cam opens the valve, and the slope that it opens and closes them.
                    But all the technical mumbo jumbo in the world is useless without a test ride, or perhaps a dyno pull or three.

                    I haven't put a 750 cam in a 1000 yet, but it's the first thing I'm changing when I get the new 1000 engine in the old 750.
                    I have the parts for it sitting on the shelf, there's no reason not to.

                      That's the current plan for my 750 once the 1000 engine is in.

                        Ape lists a 75 mm piston set for 1100's, makes it an 1146.

                          No and no. The greater cam duration will shove the power band up the rev range a small bit at the expense of low end and mid range. 4 & 8 degrees is minimal though so no big deal. At most you are talking about 1/2 horsepower. But hey, knock yourself out.

                              Probably not this year unless something major happens. I was also wondering if the 1100 g crank would work in my 1000g because going from a 64.8mm stroke to a 66 and there are 76mm pistons available would make an 1198. Although i dont believe id want to street it at that point with how i ride but i definitely want to increase displacement either end of 2017 or early 2018 so idk
