Meaningless difference. Look up the specs for yourself in the factory service manuals. There have been threads about this subject before too so check the archives for more info as well.Ed

The difference in the 850 and the 750 is dramatic at higher RPM, and the difference mechanically is that the 850 uses the 1000's lethargic cam timing, and the 750 does not.
Not everyone worships the stock configuration for everything as you do.
To the OP, try it and see, it's easy to do and might just work wonders.

The 750 cams have 4* more duration on the intake and 8* more on the exhaust. Whoop do doo.Ed

But all the technical mumbo jumbo in the world is useless without a test ride, or perhaps a dyno pull or three.
I haven't put a 750 cam in a 1000 yet, but it's the first thing I'm changing when I get the new 1000 engine in the old 750.
I have the parts for it sitting on the shelf, there's no reason not to.
