Best superbike style front master cylinder
I have upgraded the 1150 to old school GSXR RSU 41 mm forks and brakes. I bought a Chinese superbike style m/c for the front brakes, which are running braided steel lines. It took forever to bleed the thing and get a lever pressure, and it is still too soft, and I suspect the m/c size is part of the problem. What size m/c would be ideal for this application? Yamaha are made by brembo, but are not as good as real brembo, still good though. E-bay has brand new Nissin Master cyl's for $125 shipped http://www.ebay.com/itm/NISSIN-STOCK...RYKygN&vxp=mtr I have Nissin brakes in my Speed Triple and love 'em. Tons of used ones on e-Bay, but I would stay away from used m/c's. Most m/c's have 5/8'bores, some EX500's use 1/2" bores. If they were not maintained, the bores get worn and rebuilding is useless. Rebuild your calipers using ONLY OEM parts, paying particular attention to the grooves behind the seals and pistons. Must be meticulously clean and go through them every 2 years. You can also get Mytvac power bleeders for about $28 or make your own for about $2 for lines and some plumbers putty. 2) The ideal size is most likely whatever Suzuki used in the first place on that front end. If you have the OEM M/C look at it and see what bore size is cast into the body. That is the size you want.

I havent tried yet, but I need a remote resorvior type so I can adjust my handlebars to my liking. I asked and bsharpish recommend a Honda RC51 unit. He says that he has used them on various bikes with success.sigpic

The people on the ZRX forum like the 1/2" bore m/c's off of an EX500. Claim its one finger braking. Others have used it, and claim bs. 1150's and all radial's are 5/8" bore size. The EX650 master cylinder is a good choice for guys looking for a standard type 5/8" master w/mirror lug. They are a nice quality piece and being late model, you don't need to worry about a bunch of corrosion inside.Ed
