Can I use an 1100L jug and head on my 1000G?

This is a low brow mod but one I'm curious in. Can I put an 1100L jug set and head on my 1000G?
My 1000G is an '80 and the jug/head assy is listed as an '80 as well.
Would this work to step up displacement?

If the cylinders and head are from an '80 1100L, then the answer is NO.

Sorry about that, but the '80 1100L was a one-year-only model that had four valves per cylinder and chain drive.

    I can't guarantee anything, but I <think> the cylinders and/or head from an '82-'84 1100GL might fit.

You have to stick with the two valve per cylinder style.

If you search the forum database you will find a number of build threads where guys used a 1100G top end on their 8V 1000's. I can't remember all the particulars about deck height, compression ratio, etc., but I think the info is available.

I tried that but didn't easily find it.....that's the problem with a "gs1100L head on a gs1000" search....if its buried in a thread it makes it hard to find.......I did try to search for it....

Try GS1100 head and limit search to "titles only."

Here is one such build thread...https://www.thegsresources.com/_foru...mp-Mikuni-RS34

If you use Chrome with the "photobucket fix" the photos will show.
