    Dial Indicator?

Does anybody have a good place to buy a dial indicator for degreeing cams? Preferably in Canada, if possible. Or is it just a standard magnetic base dial indicator? Anything else fancy or special?

    Mark,

I just use a standard dial, nothing special. I picked up a decent one and the base years ago from JC Whitney at a good price.

Just a standard old dial indicator is all you need

Another way to find TDC is to use a plug. I made a few of these from old spark plugs and some brass. Simple enough to do a divide by two to get the center and set the wheel.

I just bought a dial indicator with a mag base from Schnitz's Racing for only $52 USD to my door. Took less than a week to get it.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I will check out our local tool houses and see what they have for me.
