Actually, 28.5 and 24.5. Some guys have put 29s on the stock intake seats but I won't do it. The seat is too close to the aluminum in the chamber! The reason most go 28.5 and 24 is because the 24.5 exhaust valve is a special order and the 28.5s and 24s are off the shelf items. The 24.5 exhausts don't make a BIG difference, as the exhaust isn't as critical as the intakes, but they will flow a little bit more air. I've seen Terry's work and it is good.

You are exactly right Ray, the 24.5 exhaust valves are special order and most dont know about them. Also correct on the flow , barley measurable over the 24.0 valve. Really not worth the trouble or expense to install them. I have them on my 1327 street/strip engine. You do some very good work yourself there my friend.

sorry guys for bumping up an old thread, i intend to install 28.5mm intake and 24.5mm exhaust valves in my gs1100ex and was just wondering if i need to change the valve guides, springs and cams? or i can just use the existing stock parts that i have.
i'll be fitting in the wiseco 1166cc piston kit as well..

What's your proposed end use for the bike - road or race ?

Most of the rocker arm motors have worn guides. Ours sit 1mm lower in the head.Speed Merchant
