70mm GSXR Pistons in 16V GS750 motor?
Been looking at the Wiseco 816 big bore kit for my 1982 16V 750. The 816 kit has 70mm pistons, compared to the stock 67mm. I notice the early GSXR750 also has 70mm pistons, and I can get a set from a 1990 model cheap. Does anyone know if they will work in the GS motor with the proper bore? -
Without looking it up, I'm pretty sure the GSXR pistons have bigger gudgeon pins - or piston pins as you Americans call them.
Again from memory, the GSXR pistons have a lower deck height.
So, yes, possible if like me you're at the end of the world and can't get anything else. But difficult.
Last time I bought the Wiseco pistons for the 16V 750, I thought they were quite reasonably priced - off ebay.

Wrist Pins is what we sometimes call them. But I like Grudgeon Pins, I'll have to try to remember that. 👍My Motorcycles:
22 Kawasaki Z900 RS (Candy Tone Blue)
22 BMW K1600GT (Probably been to a town near you)

82 850g (all original)
80 KZ 650F (needs restored)

Thanks for the replies. I found a 1100 motor cheap and threw that in instead. 102721429_1615754045257652_1517864002502004787_o.jpg
