    GS1100G_anybody made rearsets?

    My latest mod impulse is moving my pegs back a 2-3 inches.
    Actually been on my mind for at least a decade.
    Not that I hate the standard set, but they would be more comfortable moved back, plus unload some steel.
    1100G is not a skunk so different mounting bolt pattern.
    Looks Like I'll have to fabricate a mounting plate for some ebay universal rearsets, plus levers and push rods.
    Anybody done something similar?

    Watched this guy’s whole series on building a GS 750 cafe racer. Not my thing but nice work with less than professional tools. This is the one where he built the rear sets. But they’re all worth a look.

      Thanks, useful info there.
      As I figured, the levers and pushrods are the difficult parts.

        1982 GS1100 G converted by Motorcyclist magazine in 1986 to be a tribute to the Wes Cooley replica. 1982 Honda 900F. 1997 Yamaha VMax.
        Also owned: 1973 Kawasaki Z1 900, 1972 Honda 750 K, 1976 Yamaha XS 650, 1980 Kawasaki KZ 1000 MKII, 1978 Kawasaki SR 650. Current cage is a 2001 Mustang Bullitt in Dark Highland Green. Bought new in Sept. 2001.

          It would be nice to buy a bolt on set, or at least some of the parts.

            I like the idea of folding pegs vs fixed pegs that could lift your wheel off the ground if you hit them.... maybe fit some from another bike?

              2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

                I looked at the rear sets on my 87 Honda CBR, and there's everything I need right there.
                Not to strip from Paul to give to Peter, I'll look at various salvaged rear sets from different bikes on ebay, and figure witch will adapt mo betta.

                  I can do that. I'll pull the bike out tomorrow and take pics. As far as having folding pegs ? I can't tell you how many times that fixed peg has torn my shin up when I walk by it.

                      I have tarozzi rear sets and they have the folding peg option so you could just buy the pegs and make the rest yourself.

                        I used a Hyabusa set. Lots of them on E-Bay. Link where it goes onto shift shaft is proper. Plenty of room on the right side for brake master cyl. Make your own plates. My plates are tacky, crude garage style but work. Kinda like me...

                            Now that is right up my alley. Like Bill, I've been thinking about this for a decade. Do you have pics? I'm curious what kinds of fabricobling might be required.

                            Edit: OK, I did some googling. It looks like what's need is a flat or nearly flat plate to adapt from the stock peg mounts to the rearsets. Like maybe a 1/'4 inch thick, drill some holes, saw the profile and grind. Maybe paint. Yes?

                            Edit the 2nd: I ordered some. I'll have to beat them up a little more to make them match my bike.
