Never been to the 1/4 with this bike, hopefully this summer. I sort of compare my bike to Rosco's bike since he was running the same engine 1166 but he has flatsides and the drag chassis so his makes more powered and is a few tenths faster. He runs around 10.10-10.20 in the 1/4.
As a 1166 my bike would run in the 6.50 range all day long in the 1/8 so I'd say in the 1/4 it might go 10.50. But as a 1395 now with the stock 1100 head it's most likely running in the high nines. Pulls really good now in the higher gears and should only do better when the 1150 head goes on soon.
As for carbs when my bike was stock 1075cc or even as a 1166 with cv 34 carbs with pods she go lean in the upper gears at wot. Anything smaller than a 140 mains jets she hit a wall. I tried the dyno jet kit and max out the jet's and needle's and still had the same problem. So I put oem needles back in and use either 150 or 160 main jets. Mikuni jets are the only one's I run now.
Now with the GSXR 750 38mm carbs i'm still using stock needles but have 160 jets in it. The exhaust pipe residue shows it running alittle rich but the plugs look good and tan. But when I start making a few hot laps at the drags I like to know I'm not melting anything inside the engine.
Chasing a lean condition is a pain in the butt, but I like to start out rich and work my way back. I'm sort of a backwards guy anyhow.
PS That check should be showing up real soon
