I'll buy a set of plans as soon as you publish them.

As far as size, please do not in any way compromise the performance of the basic design. Yes, smaller is better. But if some models of GSes will be difficult to fit, show changes as an adaption to the basic design. Having the option of two boxes might be nice. I personally would be inclined to but finned heat sinks and screw them on to the boxes with thermal paste between.

    Thanks for doing this!

      R/R Mounting

Hello and where do I buy a set of plans? Your doing a great service to the motorcycling public! I was thinking that if you could make it totally water tight you could mount it between the 2 front engine pipes behind the front shocks. More airflow than you could ever want. Just longer wires to connect. What do you think? You could have a connection for a digital voltmeter that mounted by the spedo and tach.

Hi Cletus, Which way are you going with this, a complete package to ship or sending out the schematics for building ourselves with a parts list. The
second way seems to me may have your hard work copied, yes??????
Are you still looking to make this universal. Worldpay does seem logical.
Do you think you would want an infringement policy with this item, also
          maybe a disclaimer.

            Cletus,

I just caught up with this thread today and it's great to see someone with your background whipping this baby up. I with Nerobro and Planecrazy: as soon as you have the plans ready to sell, I'm in.

            Thanks for all the work-

Cletus, if you have a family member or close friend in the states you can just link a paypal account to their US bank account and have them send you checks. Of course, you have to trust them :-D

How to Pay for R\R plans

I would be HAPPY real HAPPY to send you a money order in whatever currency and you could send me the plans by Snail Mail if you would be interested. Wait for my money order first before mailing the plans.
So you make sure you get paid.

                  Cletus,

Will you be able to include a supplier list in your plans? I've found it hard to find exact electronics parts sometimes.

                  Thanks!

Yes, it's all there! ....none of the parts should be difficult to get, heck I bought everything for the prototype off-the-shelf right here in Trinidad!

                      Cletus,
I live in Canada. Can I pay you in Canadian dollars? If so, how much?

                        Hi Cletus!

Well, the deed is done, but you should be aware that Paypal notified me that your buddy's email address is not yet linked to a Paypal account. I was informed that instructions were being sent to him as to how to receive the payment I already sent. Look forward to reproducing your creation!!

                        Best Regards,

                          Cletus,

This sounds like a great project for me to try for my 82 GS400, but I wanted to check whether it's going to be over my head:

                          1) How much expertise will be required to manufacture your Super R/R (maybe the answer to this question is the level of detail in your plans, i.e., do they read more like the plans to a good model car or more like a shop manual meant for a mechanic to follow);
                          2) What specialized tools (if any) will be required?

                          Thanks.

Would really like one of the other people on the forum who have seen the plan to respond to this question. I've been around electronics for so damned long I'm biased into thinking it's really a simple gizmo with 14 parts on the board (perfboard) and five on the heatsink/case. Normal hand tools, a digital multimeter and a decent soldering iron. The case as I did it, would require some aluminum cutting, drilling, filing and epoxying.
Schematic is awfully simple IMO:-D and I have a suggested perfboard layout there too.
If you can ride a motorcycle and chew gum at the same time, you can build this thing :-D

The device is REALLY simple. That's to say i'm ordering parts already so I can build one. The suggested board layout is easy to follow. The most difficult part may be wiring up the SCR's and rectifiers properly as they are done "point to point" instead of on the perfboard.

Gimme a week and I'll be able to tell you exactly how easy it is. ;-) What's great is the documentation that cberkeley has written explains in detail exactly what you're doing with this circut. Speaking of which.
