    Last bits before testing...

1978 GS750 Engine in with new rings, timing chain, seals , rebuilt carbs etc.

Link for final sync shows decent adjustment with pods installed but why so much smoke.fromnipntop?

    Questions...

    1. Oil leak - UPDATED There is a little oil leaking onto the OIL PRESSURE SWITCH below the cam tensioner but that is dry. It only gets wet when I run the engine SO I NEED TO SOURCE AND SEE WHAT IS INVOLVED IN CHANGING IT especially.since the connector is missing.

    2. Expecting the manual to connect Dyna-S coils to (converted Dyna-S) e-ignition, for those used DynaS coils as I am not 100% sure how to hook them up. I wrote the company but they never responded. I googled and found nothing.

    3. Carb sync - I cleaned and oiled the k & n pods and will install for final sync but it seems pretty close. Thoughts? Tank is off now so will install the pods and balance today.
     4. The green neutral light came on once then never again so am tracing on wiring diagram but hints welcome!

    Thanks!

That "plastic headed bolt" is the oil pressure switch. It looks damaged, since there should be a part of the brass stem sticking up.

Coils don't have polarity. As long as they are hooked up and firing, you are good.

Yes, sync with the pods. Hopefully you have proper pods, not the china cheepies, because those don't take oil and can't be cleaned.

Check whether your electrics are Nippon Denso or Kokusan Denki, you need the DS3-1 for ND or DS3-2 for KD.
      Here's the installation instructions.

        ,.........
Thanks. That's it oil pressure switch!... it turns out it was just loose. I removed, cleaned, reinstalled it and ran the bike. Leak seems to have stopped.

As for the connector, it is just missing. It was there when I pulled the engine. It must have broken off sometime during the rebuild. I'll source another one. Thank you!

They are k&n, cleaned last night, oiled them just now, to install, test, sync after they dry in 20 minutes... Then I'll look at those coils again... Scary that because it starts up in one turn with the old coils now...

Thank you! Not sure. I will read up on it before heading back out on this perfect, rainy, garage day. I had converted from points and condenser to a Dyna-S electronic ignition years back. It's a1978 GS750, version "E" as far as I can tell..

Thanks again. That is the manual for the ignition that I installed some years back not the coils but the coil swap from stock to Dyna-S was what I was trying to read up on however it might be more straight forward than I thought. Cheers.
