Handlebars / rearsets (looking for inspiration)

I am NOT building a cafe. Haha. But, I am interested in crafting a slightly more forward riding position, so researching hand and foot position options ( I know, they're endless if you'd like to spend. I can't afford $400 rearsets for this bike).

Who's got a combo they'd like to share for inspiration? Fabricated or off the shelf? I'm 5'9", looking for something shy of clipons and really elevated footpegs, more something suited to carving the curves but also comfortable for longer rides. I want to put the $ into suspension so looking to keep the costs reasonable.

I just want to improve the "sit up and beg" posture of the stock setup (for now). Can always revert later (when I get older than old, if I make it).

    Thanks all!
    Mike

I have Telefix clip ons on my 1150. Highly adjustable and not at all extreme. They do provide some rise and I believe they offer spacers to raise the height even more. No idea on price. I got mine used from ebay.

Not cheap new but here's a used set. Obviously you'd need to verify fork size, etc.

I put MX bars on my GS750...
I could have gone with drag bars but I live in Florida and they might have an issue with them... sorry if you don't get the joke

Added a pic of both of my 77 GS750's

Arnold and Danny - another bad joke LOL

I'm assuming you're talking about a "78" GS750. Yes most all GS's were taller than they should have been. Just me, being 6', I'd start with a set of bars with appx 3" rise, quite a bit lower than stock but not as low as those low rise bars that cause the dents in both corners of the gas tank.... just for starts, then the way more expensive rear sets

I tried "clip ons" in my youth... and never did make friends with them. I went "old school" Superbike route using the very common "superbike" bend bars. They feel a little like my flat track bars, and off the shelf Raask rearsets. Pegs high & tight and lots of "tiller" leverage!

Renthal makes lots of bars. https://www.renthal.com/road/handlebars As mentioned Superbike bars work well and back in the day they had bars that were called BMW bend or bars which were a copy of BMW R90/100S bends. Superbike bars tend be a little wider, which gives you a little more leverage. BMW style were narrower to keep you out of the wind.
