no updates as of right now other than that my so called "undercut" transmission is junk. I am going to take a look at the stock transmission to see if it is in good enough shape to be sent out and undercut. I have been working out of town for the last couple months so no work on the bike has happened. I will be home at the beginning of next week and will hopefully start cleaning the engine cases to start assembly. I am looking for a straight cut gear for my clutch basket and couldn't help but wonder if i should just go with a billet basket from APE which i can order with the gear i need. My only concern is that I seem to recall hearing something about the tabs on the fibers causing pre-mature wear in billet baskets when subjected to regular use. Is this true? I want to build everything in the cases as bullet proof as possible so is there anything else I could do while I am in there so that I can avoid splitting the cases anytime in the near future? Even though i already have 1166 pistons i keep hearing about how RapidRay really likes 1400cc for a killer moter and that has started me thinking that I should have that as my Goal. Anyways, that is all for now. I am always open to any suggestions or ideas that my GSR brothers and sisters may have.Feel The Pulse!

Well, I have managed to get a little bit of work done. I mounted the 954 triple trees I got off of ebay, got a set of engine cases bolted in, and rear wheel in place using a tire iron as an axle.
I am in need of:
straight cut gear for clutch(found one attached to a billet basket on ebay that i hope to win)
sprocket carrier (would one from a gs1000 fit?)
1150 oil filter cover
5.5"rear wheel setup
bandit axle adjusters
I know you guys like pictures so I went out and snapped some of the current state of build and some of the parts to go in.

You like that eh? I was cleaning the garage and while trying to figure out where to put the tire iron it came to me...I could use it as an axle to make this project look like a bike again! I do have a proper axle for the swingarm but the bearings in the wheel are too small.Feel The Pulse!

I now have now ordered bandit axle adjusters and 1150 oil filter cover. Slowly collecting parts that I will need. Of course whith the economy the way it is i can't justify ordering the parts to really push this project ahead. Hopefully selling a bunch of my GS1000 parts will help. I will be posting stuff in the for sale section over the next couple days. PM me if you are looking for anything in particular.Feel The Pulse!

I built this Honda 750 with a TRACY BODY in 1977 and took it to Daytona.. I never in my life had so many camera taking pictures of a bike..I wish I could find it now.
I love the Suzuki you are building with the Tracy body.. love it.. its gonna be bad to the bone

Raceral, Cool pics, Brings back a lot of memories. My two high school buddies had exactly that set up in 72 on their CB750s. One was a mechanic at the Honda shop, the other was the son of the Gov or Puerto Rico who was in the area going to engineering school.
One was yellow with a green full length Chinese dragon on the side (sounds tacky but was very well done) the other was black with similar flames to yours. They both ran Arias 836 kits. Those dudes could wheelie those things for miles and that was back before every 16 year old and his brother had an R1. The third person on most of our rides had a 750 H1 two stroke. We should still be serving time.
Sorry for the thread jack Flatline, your finished product should be spectacular. 1400cc with that little weight, hold on.

The hijack is appreciated. I like hearing about similar project and bikes. Does anyone have information about the Tracy company that I can add to my project log? the only information I have found is about a company called Tracy that does corvette bodies.Feel The Pulse!

I have sourced an 1150 head to add to the project and picked up the steel and aluminum to finish the frame and swingarm. Now to come to grips with the mill and knock up the shock tabs for the swingarm.Feel The Pulse!

Sometimes it is the small victories that matter. I received my brand spanking new charging rotor so I was able to assemble my starter clutch. And before anyone a asks, Yes, I used Gr12.9 bolts and some red locktite.
I also picked up a free tire from my dealers discard pile and mounted it on my rim. It is not much but makes it look more like a bike.Feel The Pulse!
