i put a bike pedal from a 70s roadbike on my kickstarter 'cuz my foot kept slipping off and i would end up with a kickstarter-shaped welt on my shin.....

got my ignition switch, but the weather is crap.

well, here is what I had set up until I could simplify it. got rid of the ignition on the tree since I always hated watching the keys jingle around, so for this bike I'll put it on the side of the fire extinguisher. also not running a kill switch since there will be no handlebar electronics (less is more). The bike will be in a constant state of "RUN" as long as the key is on. There will be a anti-theft switch that duplicates the "engine off switch" somewhere on the bike (albeit moot with something you can put in a van). the "start" switch will be a simple push button next to the ignition, for now its a toggle since I cant find a suitable switch in my pile-o-parts.

lots of wire is going to disappear

here it is, ignition and start switch

BTW, its a "dyna style 2 post barrel ignition" and it was $15 on evilbay

for reference, if anyone needs it. wiring

and yes, I wear the same thing when I'm working on the bike

very bold, I can appreciate it, especially for all the creativity you've thrown in. I'm way shy of actually cutting a frame, but if you're willing more power to ya!! I've always ended up with bikes that are just shy of being ready for it.

I would suggest that the rectifier should probably be on the outside of the extinguisher, they really do have to dump a lot of extra energy as heat.

also thought it would look sweet if you could mount that keyed switch dead on in the hole of the extinguisher! might have to split up the pair to do it tho.

good read, nice bike!! keep us posted!

LOVE the idea of a hidden start button. This build is getting more intriguing by the day.

I'm going to start working on it now, Probably going to make a bunch of vents and I think we're on the same page with the key because I was thinking about it yesterday

thanks for all the positive feedback guys, the use of parts is just so I don't spend a ton of money on it, I wanted to have a bitchin bike that I built for a lot less than most people bought theirs stock. I'll have some more pictures today

sorry bro, BSing with my wife and a documentary on china's youth took some time out of my pic uploading time.

here goes. The weather was crap so I went inside of my shed to work on the FE cap

made the cover, in an attempt to keep the electronics cool

had some early blues and early punk blasting, a cigar lit and beers flowing for motivation

still need to finish the holes and add more
