I was lucky with this bike, after bumping into an old workmate who's into older bikes he said one of his mates had a GS for sale in bits, so went to see it and was blown away with it he had almost every part nos ,complte rebuild motor, frame work re coated and all new running gear,he had the bike for over ten years gathering all the bits he just had no time to finish it so a deal was done and assembly started back in august last year,I needed some other parts so Ebay has proved handy for those hard to get bits, I only need a wiring harness to get it up and running so the search goes onLast edited by Guest; 02-23-2010, 06:39 PM.

You b#stard !!!!
I started with a dog and spent a year and more money than I care to think about ( plus a pub full of Vodka ) to get somewhere near what you've got .
Now I suppose you'll tell us you paid 2 bob for it . If you find another like that , put my name on it .
Hope it's REALLY cold where you are .

If I told you it cost me well under the cost of a tatty z1000 I would not be lying, GSTHOU'S are very cheap to buy over here they have not reached the silly prices of Z1'S,the "S" is the most sought after but even a good runner can be had at a low price.

A wiring harness for the 1000S is going to be hard to find. I converted a 1000G harness to work on my own 1000S so it can be done, but I had most of the plastic hard shell connectors from an old scrap harness so that helped me out. Let me know if you get stuck and I'll try to remember what I did. Also, if you load your photos up at Photobucket or similar, you can link the [IMG] code here and the photos will show up in high resolution - its much easier to use than the forum photo loader.
Good luck and keep the info coming.Last edited by Nessism; 02-23-2010, 09:30 AM.Ed

Great job! It's much easier to see the photos now! Super cool ride you are building! I went though my own S just like you so I know every bolt on those bikes, although yours is a SN and mine is an ST.Ed

That's all I needed . BIG pictures !!!!
Down this way it's the same as regards prices .The 'S's are much cheaper than the other Jappers although they are starting to get up there . The waterbottles ( that you couldn't give away a few years ago) are now going for over 10 grand .
Maybe you could try that lad (can't think of his name) that advertises in the Pommy classic bike mags and get a new harness made . That old girl looks like she'd love some new wires .
Well done with the score old mate . I'm just somewhat envious (b#stard).
