Commonly available pump gas won't do for 11.5 compression on one of these old style 2 valve combustion chambers. If it's not too late I'd send those pistons back and get the ones you wanted.

BTW, looks like a fun project. Keep the photos coming.

Common sense has become so uncommon that I consider it a super power.

            Present Stable includes:
            '74 GT750 Resto-mod I've owned since '79
            '83 GS1100E (The best E I've ever enjoyed, Joe Nardy's former bike)
            '82 GS1100G Resto project

compression hight of 1.010. the head was only resurfaced and i am using a nos metal head gasket. if anyone knows what compression ill get. one thing i noticed is it seize gs1000 so do i have a 1.010 compression hight with a 1000 stroke crank or a 1100. another reason not to do the motor myself
