Cheers Stan, and yeah that headlight guard is just right I think, definitely "right" for the whole scrambler thing...

      You missed 'em Daniel

But all good, they're both Pirelli's. Scorpion Trail front, Scorpion MT90A/T rear... the Trail is definitely more road biased (95/5 I think) than the MT90 (70/30) but if I have to have less road bias on one I'd rather it be the rear... at least I got dual sports that fit

        Man she's gettin' so close!!!!!

I must apologies though for the lack of pic's. The low battery light is on the camera so I'm conserving battery life until I can get some more tomorrow.

Anyway, I finished getting the wheel bearings in this morning and that went so much quicker now that I could do it during the daylight hours and not have to worry about the noise.

So, wheels went back on which meant I could finally get the new chain on as well. I didn't realise though that there's a tool required to put the connecting link on properly so it's just sitting there for the moment. I have something ordered that should be being delivered this week and the same mob sell the chain tool so I'll call them tomorrow and get it added to the order.

At least with the chain on like that I was able to get the house mate to stand on the rear brake so I could get the countershaft sprocket nut torqued up as well.

Naturally I haven't even tried to adjust the chain or check the rear wheel alignment yet.

It may be wishful thinking but I do believe the front guard looks at least a little better now with the new rubber on:

After I took that last pic I got the new brake pads in and torqued up the caliper axle bolts.

Then I put the gear change lever on, and yeah that footpeg bracket and the pivot bolt are ugly as... if I get some time I really should pull them off again and give them a good cut on the sisal wheel:

I filled her up with oil again tonight too...

Nice! My mate got the wool pad from Bunnings but not sure if they have the attachments there or not.

Man I *hate* bleeding brakes... never liked it and never will...

Inside of the shiny new MC reservoir:

Used a syringe to suck a bunch of fluid through:

Then got the one man bleeder out and did the squeeze squeeze squeeze squeeze release and repeat for a while.

Did some more with the syringe and got a little bit of firmness in the lever almost up against the bar.

More squeeze/release and a bit more syringe and it came away from the bar a little, so I decided I'd tie it against the bar and leave it overnight and see how it feels tomorrow night:

At least with it tied up like that it ain't rollin' anywhere which is a good start...

I also managed to tack the chain press tool onto my other order so they should be here later this week too.

Ready for a safety certificate by the end of November is looking very promising

Nothing particularly ground breaking to report tonight...

I did finish the brake bleeding off, although I'm pretty sure it was leaving it tied to the bar all night that did most of it for me.

Undid the rope and it immediately felt good.

Gave it a couple of more squeeze squeeze releases for good measure, topped the reservoir up, and called it good.

I can roll it forward now and get some good suspension movement when jamming the brake on and I don't feel or hear any headstock bearing issues which is excellent

I also wire tired the mesh headlight guard in place, except I need to redo the top mount as I went back to push the sharp ends out of the way and succeeded in snapping the wire off...

I'm keen to get my order from Slipstream Performance so I can get that chain link installed so I can adjust the chain and align the rear wheel too.

When will the seat be ready for pick up?
Can't wait, as yourself, to see the finished product.

                                It's Back...

It's good, but it would be great if I didn't give the upholsterer a bum steer on the rear of the seat

I neglected to make a cardboard template of the shape of the tail piece like I was going to originally.

Combine that with the fact that the foam right on the back of the seat pan had to be cut fairly thin, meaning it compresses much easier than the rest of the seat, and you get a rear of the seat that sits lower than the tail piece dammit! Out by about 10mm by the looks... geeez.

It's really comfy to sit on and does the job, I'm just really annoyed at myself for not thinking properly about the back of the seat.

As a short term solution, I can always stick a bit of alu. over the top bit of the tail piece there which will tidy it up a lot, but I would imagine the upholsterer can wedge a bit more foam in there for a price. I'll have to ride it up once I get it on the road and see what they can do...

And here's some crappy pic's of wiring on the mesh headlight guard:

I'm *still* waiting for an order I made a week and a half ago to be shipped which also includes the chain press tool to put the link on, so haven't gotten that done yet.
