Way to go, Pete! Looks great, sounds great, runs great!
Haha too true! Thanks mate, definitely stoked

She'll run a bit better once I get the jetting sorted, but that'll be some fun once she's registered and I can get some km's under those tyres

Right, so, the jets arrived this morning so I got them in before the safety certificate guy showed up, so it drops back down to idle reasonably well now, except that those pilots are too big and it's too rich now... another pair on the way

Anyway, he had no dramas with anything at all and was even happy to let the first ride be mine and didn't test ride it at all

He seemed quite impressed with what I'd done as he's a middle aged fella who likes the old stuff too, so the brake line and headlight never even got a mention aside from making sure they worked... nice

So, given they're predicting rain for the rest of the week, I thought I'd duck out and get her registered this avo... that was until I called the RACQ to get CTP insurance sorted in advance...

I have to take all the paperwork into an RACQ office to organise the CTP insurance, then go back home, get the bike, and ride to DOT to get it registered.

I didn't have time to do all that in the end today, so even though I have the safety certificate she's not registered just yet.

He also did the dual seat conversion compliance plate, so that's all good as well.

And the day wasn't a complete waste, I got more done on those bits I'm not telling about yet

I really want to get her registered this week, but I have some of tomorrow off so I can take my wife into a job interview, and they're predicting rain anyway, so that's probably out.

They think Friday may be a bit clearer, so I might try it then... although probably pushing my luck with time off work this week...

I really don't want to ride in the rain just yet as the tyres aren't scrubbed in and I just won't have that level of confidence back just yet...

    Pete..
    What can I say?
I've only just caught up as I was down at the 8 Hour for the weekend.

    Fan-bloody-tastic.
I got a buzz watching the video so I can only imagine how you must have felt wobbling around the block.

We've all followed this thread like housewives with a soap opera.
This is the Scott & Charlene Wedding episode.

You're probably off getting your certificate now so I'll keep an eye out tonight to see how you went.
I know the government drones can be a bit narky and don't appreciate the work you've put in but I reckon you'll be right.
There is nothing glaringly wrong for them to pick.
Arrrrgh please! Not Scott and Charlene!!!! I managed to skip that whole series altogether so far... hahaha

Thanks mate, I'm quite surprised at just how many are following this thread and it's awesome to see the moral support and encouragement along the way

And yep, I have the safety certificate

Oh, and details on the 8 hour please! Did you have a blast? So jealous of how close you are to that track...

Welcome back to the land of the living, brother, don't leave again.
Yes indeed! It is good to be back, even if I'm not quite fully there just yet...

One lap around the block and already I'm kicking myself... man have I missed that! That one lap is so much more fun than a lot of crap I've done over the last nearly 10 years...

Theres nothing more brain dead than driving to work in the car, or sitting on the train, trying not to make eye contact.
Very true John! I think I'll still stick to the train in the majority for the peak hour rush to work (I have AMCN for company at least) but I definitely hope to ride fairly regularly as they have some designated free bike parking outside which is great.

The guys at work who ride tend to duck out in their lunch break for a ride every few weeks too so that should work out well!

Idle ain't really a safety issue anyway, so don't sweat it, if he finds issues, I will be the first to cry foul.
Thanks guys! About 6 hours and I should know

The concern is really the braided brake line from Canada and the headlight that I was told was ADR approved but has no markings on it that I can see...

I've also ordered some jets today and am getting them express posted, but the safety certificate guy doesn't think the return to idle issue will be a problem.

    Fingers crossed it's all good...
