It might be okay if you change the rear sets? But still looks awesome, hurry up and put the tank and seat on it!

Patience grasshopper! Not that I have any either... I'm resisting the urge to go and do just that, but I'm gonna see if I can get some time on Saturday maybe to get some bits and pieces on it. I especially need to see if my duck tail sits nicely with the seat or not to see what else I need to do to it.

I need to get the carbs and pods on too...

Forgot to say I got two compliments on the bike today too! One from the towing guy and one from a construction worker doing a reno job on a neighbour's house. He's doing up an older Harley Electra Glide and commented on mine when he saw it being unloaded off the ute... said it was looking good with the chrome and pipe there

Get it to run, listen to it idle perfectly and beautifully for a few minutes, THEN get the 'comfort' stuff installed! I don't know how you do it. Your patience must come in 50-gallon drums.

Mate I wish it was that simple... I gotta get another meter to check dwell angle before I fire it up next time so I can see if the home made ignitor is working with the HEI modules correctly or not, so it won't fire up for a couple of weeks yet.

In the meantime, I can stick the other bits on and see how things are looking so I at least have something to do.

My patience has been wearing thin with the bike away, but now that it's back I at least have stuff to do on it to keep me occupied and distract me from the fact that it ain't actually on the road yet

Nah its crap, no good at all...probably best you abandon this entire project. You can leave it on the kerb at my place, I will get "rid" of it for you...

Wow. That is beautiful metal work. You should be very proud of this bike when it is all together!

Now that is a true custom exhaust........Very nice Pete and seeing the bike semi-whole inspires me and I'm sure others who have their projects in 100 pieces with no light at the end of the tunnel to keep going!

I had a full exhaust system with the same coating on a Buell XB9 I used to race. It never discolored, only lost a little of it's lusture or shine a little which I put down to heat.

It's amazing what you can do with a few old toilet roll tubes!

That is one serious work of art, I am officially jealous now, mmmmmm...I wonder if a 1000G is too heavy for a scrambler
The bar has certainly been raised, I can't wait to see it all together now.......come on, come on, get on with it already.
That build is really taking shape now, and looking stunning, you really can be proud, I wouldn't worry about the heat shield, as you said, you can always build your own custom one, just make it a little longer toward the front and use the same mountings, piece of cake for you.
Now I feel about a million years behind, good on you, may you be riding in no time at all.

Bugger, sure thing John, will drop it around tomorrow... oh wait, that's right, you're full of crap! Hahaha

Mate if it sounds half as good as that Tranzac on yours does I'll be even happier! If you're keen in a couple of weeks when I try starting it again, you should be able to pop around and see how it goes in person if you want to...

Thanks Tim Can't lay claim to any of the exhaust work though... definitely all Tranzac goodness there...

Mate there have been many times where I have thrown my hands up in the air and left it alone out of frustration, and every time someone on this forum does something or gives some advice that inspires me, so it's about time I returned the favour

As to the coating, yep he said it will definitely darken up a bit when in use (nature of the coating) but it will still look good. Not as shiny as chrome of course, but I don't want that anyway...

And whoever thought you could cermaic coat toilet tubes like that? haha

Cheers Charlie... I expect there may be more staring ahead too...

Hold up! You got the sheep shagging wrong, that's those fellas that speak funny over in Unzud And you haven't obviously tasted beer from the Little Creatures brewery in WA!

It is indeed a work of art, and it definitely sets a new bar that I'll need to match somehow with the paint and panel which will be the interesting part...

Cheers Flyboy and I hope I'm riding in no time too, this is definitely one huge step forward!

Just bought me one of these after measuring up last night, so I'll have some fun next week figuring out how to mount it.

Then I can keep an eye out for a fork brace on eBay etc. seeing as there's no rush, but if I can't get one in the next month or so I'll just fork out for a new one, don't want that to hold it up!

I hope to see that exhaust in person one day, cause i am now thinking of ceramic instead of something shiny for my next one, seems to make more sense this close to the ocean!

Cheers mate! Should be no dramas getting a look at some point down the track. My first port of call will be Mt. Mee/Dayboro/Peachester etc. once I've got it going, but I definitely want to get down Tamborine way as well.

As to the coating, unless you really want the showy flashy shiny chrome look, I'd definitely say go the ceramic, I really like the finish. There is a black coating as well apparently. The guy at Tranzac told me who does the coating for my 12 month warranty, pretty sure this is the place:
