Test firing a little ways off, probably closer than I think though.Do have another change in the color though. My wife wanted her bike purple.I said if you can spray it you can do that.We looked though BOM and gallery pics and the color that caught her eye was the Champagne on the 1100's.The more we looked a cars in this color the more we like the Chrysler Champagne metallic. Was not really wanting to do red again so this idea has grown on me!
These are the inspiration for this choice:

So, does this mean you tore yourself away from the forums for a bit today? Did you cope ok with the withdrawal symptoms?1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

Awesome!!! Doesn't that just make you feel so good? I remember how it was for me the first time I could wheel it, and I didn't even have an engine in it!
Definitely making progress now1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

It was sure nice to see the wheels on my husband's bike. To tell the truth I was beginning to think that he would never get them back on. Every time he went to work on his bike he would find something else that needed to be painted and baked in the oven. It is sure a good thing that I don't mind him baking the parts in the oven, I know that a lot of wives would freak out about it for sure! Can hardly wait until he starts sanding down the rest of the bike and paints it. I know that when it comes time to sand the big parts ie. the tank that he is going to expect me to help him. That's what wives are for I guess.

It's great to see you supporting him
My wife has no interest whatsoever (and that's not a go at her either, just the facts), but she has indicated that she'll probably jump on the back with me once it's done and I have my confidence back, which would be grand.
I did manage to avoid the baking in the oven by using an old BBQ... worked like a charm and no stink in the house1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

Actually I'm using the tank my buddy Aaron gave me.It needs to stripped as the PO built up a lot of paint on it..The plastic sanding will be done with power tools so I think you should be safe my dear.

I am glad that the rest of the sanding will be done with power tools. When he wet sanded the swing arm he did it in the bathtub, which was a little messy. But of course being the loving wife I am I really didn't mind it at all. I guess that I am quite a bit different from other wives in that respect!

Looking good! When do you figure she will be ready for the first ride? I like the detail work you have done. You arent going to want to ride it in the rain/wet. I had mine all polished up at the end of summer, now it is all dirty and needs a good cleaning I am going to wait until it starts getting warmer/less wet before I clean her up again.

A thing I pick up at Kustom Kulture Longe.A guy had done ghost striping on a tank(Harley Sportster) thought that might be cool on the frame. My first attempt and it shows
