Jennifer's Makeover

Just wanted to let everyone know, Jennifer, Stan's bike, is in good hands. She's owned by Julie's son Galvin.

That's a bugger Stan, could be a one off failed set too I guess but it's a shame when you put that much effort in and the materials let you down.

Remind me via PM who the supplier is, they were the same guys that supplied before. Did you get any photos? I will get in touch and chase them.

Guest repliedThanks Larry and Pete, I appreciate the kind comments.
Yesterday was spent putting on her make up, will try get some pics up tonight.
I was very disappointed in the decal set, and it was a constant battle and a test of patience to try and get it to look half decent, and not like it was drawn on by a kid with a box of crayons... grrrrrrrr.
I think the set has been on the shelf for the last 30 years, and a lot of the colour came off and stuck to the backing sheet, lines were not straight or gaps equal, a few of the pieces did not fit the tank well either, so lots of time spent with the Stanley knife trimming and trying to correct the poor quality, to get some sort of semblance of an acceptable finish........ not happy.
However, that said, I have to extend my heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Tatu for getting them for me, top guy.

It always sucks when your hard work gets dented..argh. But it looks like things are well on their way to recovery. Nicely done Flyboy.

Guest repliedHappiness, today I managed to get a lot done and slipped Jennifer's tank into her sexy little black number, looking good.
For those who missed the story of frustration madness and misery, here is the short version.
After spending the better part of four years and a bit rebuilding Jennifer from the frame up, a short 1600km of riding after I finished, the tank fell on the garage floor while off the bike, I was so upset I parked her for months and never touched it.
then life threw a curve ball and I had to uproot and move across contry and Jennifer parked in storage for a few months while I figured out how to transport her down to me.
so this was the damage
First was pulling out the worst of the dents as best I could
Then filler
Plenty block sanding, filling more sanding, filling more sanding.......
Almost ready for primer
In her little sexy black number, well worth the work and prep

Hey Stan,
I somehow missed your posts when the tank fell on the ground. Really sorry to hear about the huge disappointment, but I know you will get it back to good as new condition again!
Can't wait to see Jennifer running again.
