You're rockin' on Leigh! Awesome to hear you're on your way up

Cafe 750... mmmm... look up coastiepete's and beergood's builds, will give you some inspiration for sure...

Thommo... the man with the paint right?

If you're gonna cafe her, you want a 4 into 2 with twin up-swept Dunstalls...

    I just realised.
If I get the FZ1, I won't need the Fat Girl for general duties.
    No bag carrying, no commuting..

Thommo has moved down and has a selection of humpy tail moulds..

I think I smell a Winter cafe project coming.
Ace bars. chrome backed gauge pod.
    Black guards.
Black barrels, silver cases, red frame (thanks oohsam)
Polished tank with blackout down the centre..
No centre stand, pillion pegs or seat.
I might have to source some 4 into 2 pipes with reverse cones tipped up at 30 degrees.

    I can see it already..

    Aww sorry, Grumble Bum..

I'm currently bouncing off the limiter.
The new job is up and running. It looks like it is going to grow too. The boss is already talking about the expansion plans for early next year.

I received a tidy little payout from an impairment benefits claim.
Which means I can get the albatross from around my neck (read: credit card) and scoot up to Sydney to buy the mate's FZ1.

My shiny new rec/reg is sitting on my desk. that will be bolted up and plumbed in this weekend.

It's been a good couple of days..

i hope you ll find the source of the problem without too much pain!
really sounds like a bad connection somewhere though.

    Yep, same one Pete.
Once that's in I'll have a better idea of where the electrickery is failing to proceed.

I didn't take the starter out because when the battery is fully charged it spins up quickly and the fire bikes easily. I'll wait for that.

The new rec/reg is on it's way.
Once I get that in and run a few more diagnostics (doesn't that sound like I know what I'm doing?) I'll hopefully either solve the problem or at least track it down.
I haven't looked at the stator yet either.
You getting the same expensive high quality one I'm getting that you pointed out?

I still reckon you need to do some connection and/or ground cleaning, something just doesn't seem right there...

It certainly looks like a day in the shed with vaseline and the crimpers for me.

That absolutely stinks of dodgy connections...

The fact that your battery seems to recover between cranking attempts leads me to think it's probably ok, and that the whole circuit is simply dropping too much voltage and drawing more current than it should.

Oh, and I lied when I said I did everything Simon said... I haven't pulled my starter to pieces and cleaned it, but I did everything else...
