Do what I did .
I fibbed a little and said you blokes had invited me to join you at the Island for a long weekend of fun and frivolity .
She's talking about going to Europe to poonce around on one of those river cruises as a pay back .
I'd rather a bit of frivolity than a month of pooncing .
Cheers , Simon .http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...esMapSimon.jpg

My difficulty will be my wife wanting to go down south too, except she won't want to go to the track of course and she certainly won't want to be pillioned all the way.
Something I shall ponder in the months to come...
I do have a cunning plan to get her on the back of the bike, but I don't know that that will happen that soon...1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

If you do it that way you have to strap her across the back seat instead of having her sit on the seat. The cops find that really suspicious...here in the states anyway... unless your in some parts of Louisana and Lower Alabama..

Don't you guys know anything?
Gaffer tape and tie-downs are your best friends.
Sit her up and tape her in tight to you.
Black leathers, black tape. The cops won't suspect a thing.

Rightio,
After a flat out week, I promised myself I would get a day in the shed.
Even that turned to half a day.
I wanted to find why my blinkers were being lazy.
So I went and poked about.
The bike started fine. It's been a couple of weeks since I fired it up.
It cranked over a few times and then fired.
Nothing wrong with the battery.
Now, here's the curious bit.
With the revs up the blinkers run fine.
Back down at idle, they blink very slowly. If the headlight is on, they don't blink at all.
If I bring the revs back up with the light on, the blinkers are good again.
I stuck the multimeter probes all over the place and couldn't really see anything glaringly wrong.
So, dear reader, does that smell like rec/reg to you?

That does indeed sound like a charging issue from what I've read around the shop here.
I'd be measuring the battery voltage at idle and seeing what you come up with there, then give it some rev's and see what it says in comparison.
It's probably worth while doing the stator pages tests too to make sure your stator is ok.

Yeah, Pete, I thought you were being optimistic with your flasher can theory last week.
A little light reading through the week for me..

I had exact same problem but mine also came with a constantly dying battery so it was easy to tell it was a charging issue. But I have a 79, which means I have a kick start, which means I just need a battery (dead or alive) in place to make it start. But my lazy butt did not fix that before I tore everything down so it means I will have to fix it when I get it all put together again. I will say I did find a burnt wire coming off my regulator which might have been the cause off my issues. Have I rambled on enough for ya.
