The carbs are off. They will need a bit of cleaining but not as bad as some, I suspect.
The loom is out. Isn't that a whole lot of fun? Sheesh. I think there are some extra wires added in here and there. 6 earth wires? Really?
I'll drop the front end as one unit tomorrow night. It's all been rebuilt and checked over so no need to strip that again. I'll get the new Metzeler fitted while the wheel is off.
The motor will be out by this weekend and ready for soda blasting.
The frame will be painted and ready to fit back up again.
If I get time, the motor will be painted too.
But that may be a 6' IF written in neon.

Six grounds on the harness sounds about right... and all going to different spots all over the shop...
Nice to see you progressing well now
I got my head and barrels wet blasted and man was I happy with that! I'm actually regretting not getting the rest done even though it would've costed an arm and a leg...1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

I have everything laid out now...
The frame is strung off the rafter and the motor is unbolted and sitting on blocks.
All I have to do is separate the two..

A nine inch grinder should make short work of that .

Alright , a 9" is probably a bit over the top .
A 4" would do the job .

I found a cheap demo saw.
Will that be all right?
If I don't post again, you can presume it wasn't.

There's always the tried and true "gas axe" .
Always good for a laugh , especially when alcohol is added .
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm , alcohol and gas ................................

Well, well, well.
I've scrubbed the paint & crud off the compliance plate.
The bike is a June '82 baby.
Looks like another Dirty Thirty party for next year.
Meanwhile, my plan of simply removing the front end as one unit has failed. But there is a bare frame and engine sitting on 2 bricks.
I should have drained the oil first, shouldn't I?
