Well, got another set of carbs from the parts shop and rebuilt them over the weekend. Installed and hoped for the best.
Low and behold she lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm excited that I did the carb rebuild myself and didn't screw this rack up. But I still got that chain slap noise. So this weekend I'm gonna have to take her to the shop to get looked at.

Just a little side note, I re-read Suzuki Don's thread about the same problem. Looks like its partly carb synch and clutch springs. The clutch is one thing i really didn't look at after I got her home. I really should have but didn't, not sure why.

Took Bags out for her first ride of the year. Man it felt good to get out on a bike again. Carbs are completely rebuilt now and almost 100%. Still have to get them synced but I think I did a pretty decent job tuning them by ear. Will make it to the shop tomorrow and have them properly synced. Also, I gotta adjust the bars but thats no big deal. Hope my tank bag will stay put. It worked on my 650 all last year. The bag was part of a flak vest that was unserviceable.

Well, got Bags back from the shop friday and she's runnin like a champ. Slight popping/backfireing when cold & choke is on; slight fuel leak from the #2 carb hose on the bottom; VERY minor oil "spray" or weep from the head. Other than that, she runs great. I also installed a windshield I got but realized its a lil too low. Oh well, easy fix. Enjoy the bike porn.

Paint is probably gonna come winter time. I'm liking the dark green, black, and chrome Bags has now so I'm gonna re-spray her dark green. Might end up mixing a custom shade myself.

So I finally got back from TX this past weekend. I finally figured out that what the issues with the lights was (bad grounds). Still need to get into the cluster and check the bulbs. Had a strange thing happen on my way to work today, the oil light started to flicker. It didn't stay on constant, just flickered. Looks like the oil is full but i dunno. Any ideas??

With a little research on the board, and reading the repair manuel, I fixed the headlight & turn signal issue. Still have to figure out the cluster light issue but I can deal w/o the idiot lights for now.
I was tryin to find where this small oil weep was coming from (just enough was weeping out to splash on my jeans to notice) when my coils decided to crap out on me. Sorry no pics of the replacements yet. Thanks to BassCliff for letting me know that the coils I got WILL work. Hopefully after I get home from work today, I can get Bags back on the road. Pics to come aswell.

                  Update!!!

Bags is back on the road!! New coils, points & condersors, and plugs. So I decided to paint my bags cuz my buddies kept making fun on her (and I had a lil extra time. Found the closest color in a rattle can and when to town. Here's a pic w/ one bag on. I sprayed the side covers and the other bag last night. Gonna re-install them today after work.

Have you been able to put more than a few miles on it yet?

Well, since I got deployed again this year, I've put about 500 on her since I bought her last year. BUT.......I'm taking her to WV for the East Coast Sturgis show this weekend. This is gonna be fun and interisting (camping on my bike). I'll be posting pics of that trip when I get home.

So last night, I started putting everything back together. The bags and side covers turned out great! I was in the process of putting on custom made SUZUKI GS850G stickers I made at work when I ran into a problem. Apparently the old paint and primer had a reaction. When I went to remove the GS850G sticker, the paint came off with the transfer paper! DAMNIT ALL TO HELL!!! So I had to sand down the side cover to the primer and re-spray it. Thank god I had just enough paint left in the rattle can to put color on. Too bad it's not perfect but I just needed it to look OK for now. Once I get home from my weekend camping trip, I'll end up painting the cover, tail, and maybe the tank. Pics of that will come, and pics of my trip (East Coast Sturgis) will be posted too.
