          Awesome, love it!

Glad you didn't take my suggestion of making knee rubbers though, it looks real good with the black paint there instead.

          Nice work

So Mr TKent... I'm getting towards painting my 450 and it seems it will end up a similar scheme to yours, although I'm thinking blue and white with twin stripes down the centre, and white knee areas with what I hope will be those rubber knee pads that I can make up that I mentioned earlier in your thread.

Anyways... you painted white over the red? I'm trying to work out how to do all this paint stuff now, and was thinking I would paint the white first, then mask off the stripes and knee areas, then paint the blue over the white. How did you go with the white covering the red?

Also, was your front gaurd chrome to start with? If so, how hard was it to prep for the primer? And did you use the same primer for the plastic as well as the metal?

Lots of questions I know, but it's messing with my head at the moment and I haven't had time to go talk to someone at a good paint shop yet...

Look through post #46 and a little later for how the paint went on.
You could do the white first, I didn't know if I was going to do the knee guards until I saw it painted without them. And it's a plastic fender, but painting chrome is fine if you sand it first to give it a rough surface for paint to stick too.
Keep us posted, we will be requiring pictures!

Thank you kindly sir... I had a look back through and couldn't see a particular reason you did red first, I just figured it would be quicker and easier to mark of the bits I wanted to stay white rather than the other way around.

I'm a little way away from painting yet, but I'm getting my mind prepared at the moment while my bike's off getting it's pipe made finally (yay).
