I'm pretty sure that the whole seat is aftermarket. I don't remember seeing any identifying markings. I'll try and check more closely this evening. I don't think that this is a re-cover since the seat pan closely follows the contours of the pad. The stock L seat is more narrow, I think.

I had another look at the seat, and cannot find any identifying markings. It fits just like a stock seat, and even uses the seat lock with the ignition key. I suppose that the PO could have transferred the seat lock to this seat from the original. So will another model GS seat pan fit this frame? I don't really want a stepped seat.

I am just about certain that you have a Corbin seat on it or a very similar take off of one.
It is definitely not an L seat.
As for what other GS seat might fit, I'll check some of my seats on the L frame that I still have for you.
(I have quite a few different ones)

Wow, I love the paint (wish I had the setup to paint at home)
As for your seat, I say go with a cafe style.

Testarossa, sorry that I didn't get to mix the seats up today.
I was kind of preoccupied: http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...d.php?t=170381

I thought I should post a picture with the badges back on. It really makes the bike look finished IMO. Hopefully I can make some progress in the coming weeks. I'm just about done with the KZ.

Well, I haven't gotten any work in on the GS, but I did get my KZ1000 finished up. It's not directly related to this project, but the fact that it's done will allow me some time to work on the GS. Just got the bike inspected and went for a brief ride today. Feels good to be done, since I have spent just over a year on this one. BTW I did 100% of all fabrication, machine work, mechanical, and body work on this bike.

Nice ride, that thing has style. Really like the tripple pots up front, great looking set up. Are those engine casings original or modified?Rob
