    there is a rolling chasis

Well after a couple of weeks of too much time spent at work, family affairs taking precedence, being too worn out to do more than think about wrenching, and a touch of laziness every once in a while, I finally got back down in the garage. Got my shim tool finally got some of the shims out and now I know what sizes I need (hopefully), now I just need funds to get them. I put on the front wheel, even though the tire still needs to be swapped around, once again funds. I had to put on the old swing arm because I am still waiting to find someone with a small cold chisel or funds to buy one and I attached the spare rear wheel, because I am still waiting to paint the other rear wheel and remount the tire, waiting on funds. I got the kick stand on and will have the center stand put on tonight. Pictures were taken and they will hopefully get posted tonight. Our internet has been acting funny and so I did not get them uploaded yesterday. Anyway, aside from life, and laziness, funds are holding up progress at the time. Though I think I will start laying out the electrics and try to make a new tray to mount them all in one place.

Hey Paul, good to see a post, been a while, I think I past your thread on about page 4 as I was looking for mine yesterday.
Anyway, good to see it back up here, even if it is just to check in.
I hear you about life and funds, sounds like you live in my house, it has kept me out the garage for too long as well.

Good to see you've been able to get at least something done Paul, I find when funds are low and time is short, even if I can get in the garage for half an hour and put a bolt or two in or connect a few wires or something minimal it's at least something and helps motivate you to get back down for another half hour... and another... and... I'm sure you get the picture

Hopefully funds sort themselves real soon and you'll be able to take a few leaps forward.

Okay this is now the part where I try to remain calm and simply..... SCREAM ED YOU OR POSPLAYR BETTER SEND ME A PM.......

This one is off a 06 Kawasaki the good news is it should definitely have no problems dealing with the Suzuki Generator....

It is a FET type Regulator and should perform much better than the stock one ever thought about working..... but I now think that my under the gas tank electronics board has just gone out the window. I will have to look into a better location for this.

Well another piece to the puzzle in.

What happened to the Rick's unit that was on there?

That is his unit next to the new one. I am not sure what happened but I do know that I had a burnt spot on the orange wire, and I could not keep the battery charged toward the end of summer last year. So I plan on wiring this one up to work. It had those spots that looked like someone grinded on them when I pulled it.

Ah okay. Someone did grind on the fins, because when she got it she found that it would not fit in the stock location. Guess all the sitting didn't do the contacts any good .

All is good. I am hoping maybe with he size of this regulator I might be able to hook up some heated riding gear. I am going to talk to Ed and Posplayer to verify. So that way I can ride longer into the cold months.

And once again give it up for my lovely assistant

Tonight I took apart the right hand control to clean up electrical connections and repaint the housing.

Put the bolts for center stand into a simple green soak

                  That was all for tonight.

Paul, you surely are getting there man, looking good, makes me want to get mine back onto her wheels even worse.
So far you have done really nice work, keep it up, and she will be a stunner.
Your little helper seems to really be pulling her weight on this project, I hope she is going to get many miles on the back when it is done, and at the speed they grow up, she will be riding it before you know what happened.

Well I got the bolts for the center stand cleaned up...cleaned up the spring...cleaned up the bushings.... greased the bushings....antiseize on the bolts in they go no problemo....go to put on spring...and wow...okay still can't get spring on. Is there a simpler way to put that spring on besides, trying brute strength to pull it down. Because if not I have not enough strength.

                          Paul

Paul, why don't you try putting the spring on first, then levering the stand into position to slide the bolts in.
You may have to use a small crowbar between the stand and someplace, but leaverage is your friend.

Thanks flyboy, I thought about that this morning on my way into work, last night i was tired and logical thought was not present. I was using Pete's advice try to get something done each night no matter how small. Well if nothing else I managed to get the spring and bolts all cleaned up. I will try prying it into position tonight, and I will let you know how it goes.

Listening to my advice? Man you're game!

Actually that's one little thing that I think is actually worthwhile... most of my other advice is... well... maybe somewhat questionable

I'm trying to think what order I put the spring and centre stand on, and I think I got the stand on first and used some big pliers to help me pull the spring onto it.

It wasn't easy, but it worked... I'm not exactly Arnie either...
