I was so busy today I didn't get any new pics for you all. I sanded the back half of the frame, finished the tank and bum stop and got them in primer. I made the bum stop pad out of wood that I will seal tonight. Planning on covering the seat and pad tonight with polyester batting then black vinyl.

Tomorrow is paint day...FINALLY! I can see that the tank needs alittle fine tuning with some extra build up layers of primer.

I promise to take a load of pics tomorrow.

Added quart of sand and rock, quart of hot water and alittle degreaser
Since you used water in the tank with your gravel, did you dry it well and put something else to coat the clean metal and displace the moisture? It will probably flash rust if left unattended. Marvel Mystery Oil works and is a good choice in my oppinion as it is often added to gasoline in small amounts to clean a fuel system.

Thanks for the advice. Yes I washed with gas and stored with cap off. Should only be another day without gas...if longer I'll wash it out again.

I forgot...I did take one pic, but this cutie is covering most of the frame work up. That's ok!

Freshened the back half of the frame with black spray paint. Didn't turn out to bad. You can see the added cross members and the new tank mounts.

Side view. Still would like to get a smaller battery and get that battery box out of there. Just think that it would look cleaner.

Tank is primed and just got it taped off. I know it's hard to see, but the masked areas will be black and the white areas will remain white.

Same with the bum stop. Black stripes continue to light cut out.

And the seat got covered last night. Obviously this will be the look when I have a passenger. The cover bolts to the chrome fixtures on the sides. Sorry it's out of focus.

So..the longer I look at my tank, the more I am thinking about swapping colors and making the masking parts white and sides black.

                      Anyone have an opinion???

My opinion is that we need better pictures of the masking.

It was rather hard to see what was taped off in the tank picture.

Really really really liking the lines of the rear tail/bum stop. One of the coolest rear ends on a cafe EVER! Subscribed!

Yeah I know Steve. I tried and tried but the masking tape and the white primer are so close in color.

Thanks Smokin for the compliment on the bum stop. I'm pretty happy with how it came out...and it started with a junkyard find.

I've decided on the black sides with white stripes...There will be enough white that it shouldn't look like just another black bike.
