80' GS 1000 Shafty (First Bike, First Project)

This is my first bike and my first project as well. I picked it up for $300 from a friend that was going to turn it into a cafe racer, but he got discouraged with it. It starts right up and runs pretty well, so at least for the moment I don't have to worry about tearing into the engine. So far I've stripped it down to the frame, made a two-up cafe style rear section and painted the triple tree and such. Now I've got to do some welding to hold up the upper section of the seat and wire up some newer handle bar controls.
Here's the day I brought it home:

My mold for the rear section.

I've got the thing glassed and skim coated with bondo. I wish I could show a pic of what it looks like now, but my 3 year old has placed the camera somewhere. Anyhow its coming along alright and I'm really enjoying the process. I'm hoping to get the welding done at work today, so I can paint the frame this weekend.
