awesome
that actually makes alotta sense, the cylinder im having problems with also had issues with the carb that went into it. it was leaking gas. but i never thought that it could be leaking into the oil. i bet that was my issue,
i just ordered a new petcock and the carb rebuild kits are in the mail for all 4 carbs.
ill check and adjust the valves,
put on a new gasket,
replace the plug,
change the oil,
slap everything back together, and see what happens.
thanks for all the help everybody, everything makes more sense now and i know how im going to approach it.

And needless to say you should adjust the valves. Why so many people neglect them is one of the mystery of the free world.Ed
