Nice save there. Like others i was a bit "wtf" when i saw this, but i have to agree, it's growing on me. The best move you did was modifying it so it was designed for someone with normal arms and not for a gorilla.

I attribute any handling skills I may have to racing mountain bikes... but I'm thinking mostly it was luck haha.

I knew most people on this board would not care for this style bike, but it's what I'm into. I am not and never will be the restoration type of guy, and I've had a sport bike before so I don't really want a cafe bike either. I still have a lot I'm going to change on this bike, but it's nice to have a bike to ride right now. I will be building a new frame soon from the extra frame I have.... so stay tuned for more craziness!

Mate that's an adventurous ride home for sure! Glad you survived

The only thing like that that happened to me was on my first bike which was a 2006 Honda Rebel 250. I attempted to flick through a break in a traffic island to take a short cut onto the freeway but misjudged and hit the island with the front wheel. I was doing about 60kph and it actually launched me (thankfully it was angled gutter) and I landed in the next lane over just in time to swerve and avoid the guard rail on the other side.

I still have no idea how I landed that and got home safely, I so expected to be road kill under two lanes of traffic... I'm sure the cagers got some entertainment though!

And as to your future craziness, bring it on!

Pete, that's only 3 miles from our new house! I rode about 60 miles sunday afternoon on the bike and all felt good. I'm going to go down a size on the mains because when you go WOT it bogs a little at the top of the rpm's range... and if you go WOT too often it'll start fouling to plugs out...

Having trouble with this embedding thing...

                So here's a regular link:

Good stuff. Where I am is about half way between the city where I work and my favourite biking roads. Unfortunately I haven't had a bike on the road yet since we moved here...

Being only 3 miles from rides like that should make it easy to get out for a quick spin for you too, nice

Definitely sounds like you need to go down one on the mains too! I'm looking forward to needing to do that sort of tuning...

It is nice... when my bike runs!

Crap man, what I thought was plugs fouling is really a bad coil or the ignitor is going out again... I'm getting intermittent spark on the left cylinder. Gonna pick up some fresh plugs today and drop by the old house and get the extra coils. Hopefully its the 31 year old coil going out and I can just swap out the newer coils and it'll be fine... Jets are on the way either way, so maybe I can squeeze an extra 1/3 hp out of it haha

Dude this is a sweet looking little chop. I like it a lot. Can we get a picture of the other side of the tank? I'm intrigued by the graphic on it

                        Thanks!

This is actually the only one I have... and it's before I wetsanded and cleared the tank:

Man I hope it's those coils!

Otherwise you may be helping test my HEI module setup...

I was thinking the same thing Pete... if it ends up being another bad ignitor then I'm going to do the HEI setup for sure...

Changed the plugs and swapped out the coils and I got plenty of spark. Fired right up and felt stronger than ever. Im going to ride it to work in the morning so I'll let you know how that goes for me

On the one hand... bugger... noone else to test the HEI modules yet

On the other hand, good stuff! Sounds promising
