Currently striping the bike and I am removing the wiring harness, any advice on disseminating or reassembly?
What is the best paint for the wheels?
Finally if anyone knows about engines and has the time to look at my pics any thoughts on the carbon in the exhaust ports in relation to the condition of the engine, need for a rebuild etc.

Agreed, nice bike to start with there.
There is no big deal with the wiring, just take lots of pics with it in place, so you can see the routing easier when you put it back.
And just tag everything so you know what plugs into where, when it all goes back together.

1978 gs1000
Well I got a little distracted from my 1979 GS750E build check out the link below for pictures. This is a 1978 GS1000 with spoke wheels which I kind of think are cool. This bike is in worse shape than I thought, when i drove it home it ran awful the front and rear shocks are gone. It was a 20 mile drive that I should not have taken anyway I made it safe and now it is getting striped. The good news is that the compression is OK, I will start another thread for this bike.
