    1983 gs110e pseudo cafe/drag bike

hey guys new here, i just wanted to share my little project. I started out with i nice gs1100e that i traded a dirtbike for. The bike ran great and supposedly had some motor work done. this is the night i picked it up. sorry for the crappy picks but it was late and i cant leave well enough alone

    started the tear down

and this front end is off a cbr929.

here i started on the front end swap, tapered roller bearings were all it took

I was with you until the hardtail... Why? You were all set to have a great handling bike too...

I understand completely that it's your bike and you will build it the way you want to, I'm just curious as to the reasoning you went with a hardtail as opposed to good twin suspension or a mono-shock.

Are you intending this bike for street use, or are you building a track only racer?

Poor fella. Butchered a nice bike. Its the latest rage, a can of flat black paint and a hacksaw. Sad to see

its okay guys i knew you wouldnt understand. Its not like this is a rare bike-but hey to each his own. And no this isnt a hack job, the bike tracks true, rides just fine and will be finished off nicely

Not really my thing, but as you said - these aren't really rare bikes and its yours to do with what you will. Your workmanship looks pretty good, so kudos for that! Lots of guys will harp on you for hacking up an 82/83 1100E but they're just jealous. Keep at it; I'm interested to see the end product!

thank you sir. I will have some updated pics tomorrow. i got some more bracing done up and installed braided lines, new pads and a new right front rotor. I am hoping to make a big push towards the beginning of next month so i can get it painted and ready to go

I guess you are looking for red-light to red-light speeeeeed

i can tell you that the bike will destroy the 200 series tire out back in fourth with a bit of clutch work and some throttle doing 50 or so. The fact that the gearing is around +6 helps too and the fact that there isnt all that much weight out back. This bike is just going to be a fun little get around bike. If i want something that handles i will just hop on my 09 r6 trackbike

here are a couple of pics from the brake line install and what-not. I also fabbed up a nice little ignition bracket but its not welded in, and the x braved is only tacked in because i ran out of gas for the tig.
