    '81 GS550E custom build

I bought this thing cheap, titled and not running. It's my garage project, and I'm trying to make it lighter, minimalist, and hopefully fast.

I just finished this seat. Complete construction here: http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum....php?p=1405227

Love the build so far!! I like the flat seat especially, flows very well with the silver tank. Are you putting the battery behind the crankcase / rear master cylinder? I really dig the clean look you've got with the space under the seat. Cool. Looks like you've cut out a decent bit of weight as well.

      Nice work, keep going!

I'm finally getting this thing back on track. Relocated the electrics and picked up a few switches. Shopping for tires and a tail light. Hope to be on the road once before winter...

                    Influenced by Wrenchmonkees?
Cool. They do some suitably oddball stuff.

I ended up using a set of GPZ1100 rear shocks. I modified the bushings to fit and they feel pretty good.
