I put 12 washers under the bolt so it acts as a spacer. I think I want to lower it just a little bit more... I'll get a picture later today.

Got the screw. Who would have thought that a drain plug from a VM29 is exactly the same as a BS34's drain plug?

My new to me, vintage 1962 (unconfirmed) Sears motorcycle jacket. Got a Do The Ton patch on it now...

              Messy bed, I know... .

Got some 1" P clamps. I don't have a welder so this should work very well as an alternative to hold my underseat electronics box. I may use it to hold my seat pan as well. The rubber is removable too. Only $1.29 a pair .

Forgot to buy sheet metal though LOL! Next time... What gauge should I use? I was thinking 20-22 gauge.

They look pretty good. I got some hose clamps for mine but I think those would be much better, just have no idea where I'd get them around here.

I used a sheet of galvanised steel for mine, can't remember how thick it is off the top of my head though.

Got mine's at the hardware store (Lowe's) for $1.29 a pair. I'm gonna take a look around the shop tomorrow and see if I can come up with sheet metal.

Pete - I saw those clamps the other day in my local auto shop (Streets Auto Spares, Arana Hills). They had them in all different sizes for not too many $$$.

I'd assume SuperCheap would have them too??
                      Current:
Z1300A5 Locomotive (swapped my Intruder for it), GS450 Cafe Project (might never finish it....), XT500 Commuter (I know - it's a Yamaha )

                      Past:
                      VL1500 Intruder (swapped for Z1300), ZX9R Streetfighter (lets face it - too fast....), 1984 GSX750EF, 1984 GSX1100EF (AKA GS1150)
And a bunch of other crap Yamahas....

Cheers Hillsy, I was going past Supercheap at Enoggera coming back from the wreckers and didn't see any, but I must admit I went straight for the hose clamps.

Have been down to Streets many times actually as they always seem to have what I want, so I'll have to pay them a visit sometime soon.

                        Cheers for the tip!

I was riding the bike today and about 5 mins into it, it died. Right at an intersection! It seems that my igniter has blown again since I no longer have spark. Yes, I relocated the igniter for a better ground. What is causing this??? My R/R is doing it's job by keeping the voltage around 13v-14v. All grounds are clean and good. The wiring harness has new connectors. What else???

I've had it with this. Do I sell the bike? Or keep it? Or how about a GS500 engine and electrical swap? I will hold on to my bike since I love it but hate it at the same time . I'm supposed to get a job this summer so that's when the fun begins.

Here's some pics I snapped before the bike died.

Getting gas. $5 got me 1.2 gallons. About 7 AM and the weather is great!

These are pics after it died. Luckily I broke down only 10 mins away from my neighborhood! And my neighborhood is full of hills so I didn't push the bike at all. Coasted down...

If you guys have any leads on GS500 stuff, let me know. Then I'll just bring it to a shop and get the exhaust made.

I just checked for spark and I do have spark . I got shocked pretty bad because I wasn't expecting it. Hmmm... I must not have been able to see the spark when it was so bright outside compared to the dark garage. It starts and runs but it dies after idling for like 10-20 secs. The idle goes up and down and acts like it wants to die but for some reason, I don't think it's a vacuum leak. I think it's misfiring like the timing is off. It backfires too.

I'll get a video for you guys tomorrow.

Never mind about the plans. The bike is for sale and I'm serious this time. Just too much problems . Don't want to deal with them and just want to ride. Looking to move on to another bike...

I already have a few bites. Letting it go for like $600...

Why let it go after putting so much effort into it?
