Yeah, I pulled the forks and reassembled them with that. Trick I learned for busting GSXR front axles loose. Might not hurt to hit the extensions with brake clean and duct tape them together in case the socket jams a bit. I didn't have an issue, but just in case.

      Those BIG connectors barely fit!
It probably will not go in from the back to the front.

It goes in the frame? I was just going to lay it out and cable tie it into place like the PO had it. I'll look into that when I get home tonight.

I took lot's of pictures of the last one that I removed to make sure that it went in the same way.
I think that they are in my Goldy or Wes Cooley album.
I could send them to you if you desire.

I'll let you know if I need them. I probably won't do it until the project reaches it's final incarnation since everything will be getting stripped again in about 6 months.

That was the "Stands back to admire work then realizes it's almost 1am so takes a bad cell pic and calls it a night" tease.

and the problems shall begin. Electrical: No spark to be found when I kick it over, starter isn't engaging, however I have some electrical as my gauge lights come up; probably something painfully simple like... Not grounding my rectifier. (Discovered that about 5 minutes after I took a bunch of stuff off, not a big deal)

Fuel: none... WTF??? Petcock isn't leaking or spitting fuel without vacuum. Carbs went right in to the manifolds, found some 7/32 line at oreillys for my vacuum/vent lines. Not to say there won't be a plethora of headaches when I get it up and running of course.

Oil: Um, oil is ****ing out of the pan. Whoever said I should probably just replace the pan may have been on to something. Gonna get a little deeper in to that one later.

So my hopes and dreams of getting it running today are shot... but the majority of the work is done, so I'm pretty happy. Valves were in spec, maybe a smidge tight. All my covers/gaskets have hel thus far; save for the oil pan.

I'm gonna go work on the CM185 now...

Use zip ties and make SURE that the hosing isn't going to leak or come off.

Well I went out into the shop and looked at it today. Then cursed the parcel service who hasn't brought my battery yet.

Got the Honda running pretty good though. Rode it around the block, but I can't get it to idle consistently to save my arse. Got it all dialed in and idling smoothly, lubed the chain and then it decided to not run without choke. Think I might pull the carb again and seal everything up with ultra black and see where I'm at after that.

Little thing has a surprising amount of power, got right up to 50. Ok not "right up to 50" like my CBR does, but in the sense that I didn't have to go full aero downhill to attain it. I heard top speed of 57 on these, but the speedo goes to 90 and I had plenty of rpm left. I'd say 70 tops. Going to be a perfect 1st bike for my g/f.

My son's girl friend hopped on one of those and took off. Never rode in her life. She's 4-10, a bit height challanged.
