    Rodger that Greg.

I had it stuck in my mind that the rear you had was a 17". I remembered the conversation about the decal stating the bike had 18" rears on it but I had forgotten your rear mag was 18" as well.

Never mind the man behind the curtain. Carry on...

OK white's done.Did all of the bits so there is no colour change from the white to the gray of the primer.Sitting in the shed for a bit then I will do the red. After that a month to let it really cure out then a good coat of 2K clear.

Yes I do.Thinking either a black or gold pinstripe.Vinyl stripes are getting hard to find up here these days.Only Canadian tire seems to have them and selection is limited to say the least. My talents as a stripier are almost as limited sadly

Greg, Trust me, I know about the money i$$ue. It's tight here as I suspect it is with most people. I have the advantage, my wife works at a body shop, which from time to time, helps with the materials cost.

I did a bit of searching and came up with this... http://autobodystore.com/forum/showt...quer-paint-job

Greg, find out for sure what grit to use between coats, or do a test run on a piece of scrap sheet metal and see what works.

So the plan is to use Lacquer paint from bare metal on up? Lacquer paints are a hot solvent and you might get away with the finer grit papers between coats. I really don't know what to recommend as I haven't used it in eons.

There are better paints now-a-days that you can have put into spray cans.

Cool,1000 grit I have.Have 2K left over from Yeller so I'm using that over the lacquer.Funny thing is I hear all the time here how lacquer clear melts at gas.Did a 81 GS650E in all lacquer including the clear and I don't remember any problems.

You can sand lacquer, but don't expect clear to stick very well to a surface that's been sanded with 2000 grit. 2000 grit is used for when you are going to compound or rub the final finish coats.

I really don't know what to recommend to use between lacquer coat as it's been 30 years since I've sprayed the stuff and can't remember what I used back then. I'm thinking 800~1000 grit might be in order after every 3~4 coats.

What do you plan on using for clear?
