Wow Greg, you have been a busy beaver, she is coming along nicely, and looking really good as well, another BOM...perhaps
That stainless fastener kit really sets the motor off nicely.
Crude is mine, it belongs to me, I removed my steering head bearings before I had a Dremel, real caveman style, but I had no option but to get a Dremel to remove the swing arm bearings, felt high tech compared to bludgeoning them out.

I've done two like this. No problems at all.

Bottoned up the engine.Got shims from Rob today. All the valves are now .003 of an inch, loose side of spec.Did a recheck making sure the adjacent valve was not in compression of it's valve.

OK I actually LOOKED at BassCliff/Matchless's zip tie PDF instead of dithering at it.Looked easy enough, took a few tries but I got it though the plug hole on the outside cylinders no problem. The insides I think my tie was to shortThen I realised with no pipes I could put a tie though the ports.Feed the info through Steve's handy dandy spreadsheet(stopped dithering on that to) and I can transfer 1 of the 2.75 shims to make #1 good to go.Do need a 2.85 and 2 2.75 shims to be good.

The outside exhausts at .06 are just fine. I would leave all 4 exhaust valves just as they are myself.

Covers on the engine with the SS Allen set I bought. The stator and clutch are gasket ed and tight.Points and counter cover aren't as they have to come off.Did the valve check, intakes are fine.Three where .003 with #1 at .002.However the outside exhausts are .006 and the insides are .004,I need to do the outsides for sure.May leave the insides as they are close enough.Taking Rob(azr)up on his offer to show me the tricks of doing these.
