Cut the fins.OK might have done a little more than I needed.
Put the instruments on to.
Polished the rear brake switch only to realize after I put it on it's coveredPut on the ground wire to.Would have been easier if I remembered before getting a bunch of stuff on the frame.

Getting there, slowly.Got the front sprocket and chain on,just need to get a clip master link.Have 2 clutch switch things of the 750's I got, needed a brake light switch for this.Realized they where the same thing just wired different.Couple of snips and I just happened to have a proper white and orange brake wires hanging around so I soldered them to the brake posts. Now have a front brake swtch

Getting more stuff together, with help from GSR I have hooked up the Martek ignition, thank you Oldvet66.A thank you to Steve and Tom203 for answering the question of how to wire up my R/R in terms even this electrics simpleton could understand.Helped that it was not as hard as my mind was making it.
Putting this car flasher on my 750 freed up:
The one I was using on the 750 for the 1000 along with the rubber mounting bit I was missing

Coming along,sigs are on.
All the wiring is done.Well I really hope it's all OK.
Had to take the carbs out to get all the hoses on.Put them back when the new throttle cable gets here.Thinking I'll put oil in and push the start button to see how that goes.Last edited by Guest; 09-02-2012, 12:46 AM.

Has anyone else safely used brake lines that are far too short?
Can someone post ANY pictures of ANY other GS1000 with brake lines this short that work?

OK she did turn over a bit.
But this happened to the glass fuses.Odd is it not?
Hoping changing to this fuse box will help.
Looks like the wires are the same colours.
Two red wires in this bundle.Did I wire the R/R to the right one?Does it matter?
Edit:Everything else seems to be fine even the sigs workLast edited by Guest; 09-02-2012, 06:36 PM.

Did up a plate to mount the 83 750 box to.
Then did just that.Have to wrap the wires and should really have made then shorter.Realised today if this works I should be able to fire her up.Yeah I put the carbs back in to.Leaves me with only a few thing left to do.Big one being painting the "tins".With the disaster the lacquer turned out to be I'm taking Dale's(rustybronco)advice and getting some 2 part paint. No access to the booth I sprayed Yellers inLast edited by Guest; 09-14-2012, 12:17 PM.
