This makes it a C harnessEven has the rubber thing to hold it to the frame.At last I can get going again.Now knowing I burned up the thing the last time dare I try my more modern R/R and fuse box? Or just keep this set up?

Did you get the replacement harness yet?

No,we had to send a cheque in the mail.Haven't heard a thing.Sent an email just now.
Edit.got a quick reply to.Hasn't got it yet.Sent it on the 11th and he's in BC

Well as luck would have it I did find another harness.Not here I'm sad to say but over at http://www.bcclassicmotorcycleclub.c...k=click&bid=12 .Getting a fusebox and the stock separate regulator and regulator with it.A spare solenoid as well.

Bugger Greg, she sure looks toasty!

Hopefully you can get another harness otherwise it will be salvageable but you'll probably need to strip all the sheathing off and check it out thoroughly, replacing any individual wires that have the insulation melted off and have blackened cores. That would be a lot of effort...

Wow - that thing is toasted bad. By the time you've fixed it, you could have made a new one - and probably will. I hope you find a new one, I wouldn't trust that one.

Looked at the harness again,it looks worse than I thought. So http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...d.php?t=203064 .If no one has one to part with I guess I will have to patch this one up.

Didn't think to take a before pic of this one but here's the afters.


Here's the before of the left side,right looked pretty much the same reasonable shape.

Something was nesting in the right one though.Any ideas what.Came from Lebanon TN FYI.

Liking the finished product,but do I have the switch levers right way around?

Since the left side was the same style as the 1000's I got that off the guy to.Saves me having to rewire the one I have.

I'm thinking my jury rigged starter button burned out the ground wire so I ordered this http://www.ebay.ca/itm/310449162157?...84.m1542.l2649 yesterday.Same as the 1000 except for the white lettering,easy fix as I'm repainting it anyway.

Already ordered,had this advice but didn't heed it.That listing is for 2 connectors,not just 1 so I have a spare.
