Well here's the start of my thou build. Going to progress it this weekend.

Hi Guys going to ride it around the yard outside my lock up on sunday, lol. The frame, swingarm and fron mudguard were all powdercoated ready to assemble, had difficulty in locating a front wheel otherwise would be rolling chassis by now. Have everything, I think, to complete the build now, bar the rear cowl and brake hoses. Post pics on Monday of progress, if any.

Well got the bike built up to rolling chassis today, took a bit longet than I thought it would but beginning to take shape now. Has a GSX1100 tank on it but this will be replaced when I have sorted out my original tank. Waiting for the seat cowl to come from US and then it'll be painted to match tank along with the sidepanels. Should have it running by next weekend hopefully.

Hi guys been a while and don't feel like I've made much progress, Have painted sidepanels and tailpeice to match tank, however am going to put an early GS tank with the grooves on the side, busy painting it just now. Biggest pain has been trying to sort the wiring, cannot get it to work at all, both harness' I've tried have been butchered previously, have a fairly good harness from the L model which I might use, what would be the difference? I'm guessing the gear indicator wires but anything else that will be surplus? Will post up more pictures when it's done.

Had the bike running last weekend, took it round the yard at my lock up to test out the gearbox, engine seems nice and strong, gears work ok, sounds lovely with that exhaust on, now to sort out the brakes and bodywork and get it running properly for the spring

Hi Rover if you mean on the blue/white 850 it was one I built myself from a road sign and had it covered by a local upholsterer, cost me all of $100

Well getting there, have the original tank all prepped and ready to rub down prior to painting, got this in a job lot of spares the the po had filled in the scalloped sides, bit messy getting all the filler out but worth it.

GS1000 restore.

Those original 1978 1000 tanks are hard to find. It will be worth all the work you have done. Was the tank good on the inside? The tank I used on my 1978 GS1000 E restore had to go to the radiator shop for repair and then sealed with tank liner before it was painted.

Well guys had a bit of progress with my project, got it running well, only need to sort ut front brakes and off it goes for its MOT test.

Looks like a LOT of progress. Well done.
I see you got rid of the splitter on the front brake lines. I did the same thing and like the ease of bleeding.
Is that a Guiliari seat? Looks good.

Looks like a fun bike to me, are you going to finish it with tank emblems and rear turn signals?

Thanks guys, the seat isn't an original Guiliera and won't be going on the bike as it rubs the paint off the rear cowl, I'm currently recovering original seat with the trim on the bottom,I will be fitting the tank graphics when I pluck up the courage to put them on, also the indicators aren't working at the moment so took them off until I can sort them out, don't need them on a bike of this age to pass test thankfully,
