No raining cloud over my head.

It was just bad luck that happens every once in a while. I was pushing the bike into the garage. Then I had a little trouble getting the bike to go over the little bump from the grass to the drive way. So I pushed really hard, the kickstand came up, and it dropped. Kinda hard to explain. Why didn't I just turn the bike on and ride it inside the garage? I don't really know why I didn't.....

I guess the camera saved my leg from getting a huge bruise.

I have to say I was having a little displacement envy after I left your place today. I still can't get over how powerful that thing feels just sitting on it.
      Good luck on monday.

        Good luck on monday.
And I have to say that I am envious of the light weightness of the GS450.

Tell me if I made a good decision or not.

I bought this camera only for the screen. $19. With this, I have one good working camera and one camera with a broken screen that takes crappy pictures.
Find many great new & used options and get the best deals for nikon camera s550 as is parts repair b1.02 at the best online prices at eBay! Free shipping for many products!

But a brand new screen costs $17. With this, I'd only have one camera.

I get a whole camera for the same price as one screen. So... I will still be able to bring you guys some decent pictures.

The problem with the above camera is that it takes pictures but shows up with lines. But at the same time, the screen appears to be working just fine judging from the pictures the seller provided.

EDIT: By the way, the seller above has some really good deals on cameras if you know how to fix them. Replacing a screen is cake.

FC, good to see you getting some progress done! Makes ya feel good don't it?

Bugger about the bike dropping, that sucks but at least there's no damage. I once dropped mine right in front of a (now ex) girlfriend's dad as I was putting it on the centre stand. First time I'd met him... now that's embarrassment! Bet he was glad to see my bike had a single seater modification

Ryan your T's lookin' real nice there too, nice to see it side by side with FC's 1100 too, always good to meet other members and I'm hoping to get to do the same once my 450's on the road.

Good luck on Monday too, Jeep's givin' ya some good advice there.

One other tip from interviews I've conducted in recent times... if the interviewer is talking more than you, something ain't right. Avoid yes/no answers unless it's specifically a yes/no question, but don't go overboard with the yap.

Oh, and 30 minute drive to work is nothin', don't sweat it and you'll love it once you get the bike going.

I think I have a set of stock horns you can have for shipping cost...
Or are you going with something that you can actually hear?

                Leave 60 mins early.
If need be take a clean pressed shirt with you and change in the parking lot.
Just a slight modification to an already good suggestion, change into your clean shirt in a parking lot around the corner, then pull into the parking lot of the interview already wearing your clean, pressed shirt. If the interviewer happens to be looking out the window just as you're out in the parking lot changing your shirt, that will be their first impression of you.

Oh, and be sure you use the little hooks on the headliner in the back seat of your car to hang up your clean pressed shirt on a hanger for the drive over, so it stays clean and pressed.

Good luck, and remember that they wouldn't waste their time interviewing you if they didn't think you looked good 'on paper', so you have that going for you. There's a good chance that if you can dress and groom yourself adequately, and manage to conduct a conversation with the interviewer using proper grammer and complete sentences, they'll offer you a job.

What I'm saying, more or less, is that based on the level of intelligence and organization you've displayed on this site, I don't think you'll have a problem.

Yeah, Ryan's GS450T is really nice. I especially like the green paint. You can't see it very well in the pictures though.

On the way to Firestone is a lot of tunnels. I wanna hear the 1100 in them.

Baatfam, I'll take those horns off of you. Something is better than nothing. PM incoming.

Thanks for the advice on the interview. I'm not going to change in the parking lot because the parking lot and shop doors are like 10 feet anyway from each other.

Tomorrow is the big day. My very first job. And if I do get the job, I have no bills to pay. Think about it.... This 1100 will get all of the attention.

From what I could see Ryan's 450 did look nice indeed

As for tunnels... when my 450 was running I rode in with a bunch of people to watch the Rocky Horror show at midnight in the performing arts complex and one of the other guys had some nice pipes on his Honda Firestorm that manage to set a few car alarms off in the tunnel entering the complex... sounded great and highly entertaining all at the same time

First job is always the most fun in terms of spending... never any bills to pay so it all goes to fun, but then you quickly realise how fast it disappears...

                      aww thanks guys.
It will be a little sweeter once i get that seat re covered.
Ooh I just saw a 78 550e around the corner from my place just parked in a corner being neglected. It's been sititng there for about a month or so with no cover. Going to drop a note on it see if i can get in touch with the owner and possibly start my first project.

Interesting... I'd say go for it. From what I've learned, you can always get these bikes going again without too much work.

I am really having an itch to get a nice small bike again. Looking at some Honda's...

Awww not a Honda... man that's all I see on DTT... Honda this that and the other, actually gets a little boring for my tastes... but there a few Zuk's over there which is cool of course

So... is it time for the interview yet? Or too early? Timezones confuse me...

Hey guys, was reading over the thread and just wanted to say Great Job on the build.

I noticed something on the Green bike that stood out to me....Is his front tire on backwards? Wouldn't having the V facing up (/\) force water under the tire in the rain?

I'm more of a car guy. I just bought my 3rd GS550 but I still consider myself a cycling novice. So feel free to call me ignorant.

That's how the Avon tires are. It's on correctly. Just look at everyone elses bike with those tires.

Now... I got all dressed up. Put on my dress shirt, dress shoes, etc. Did my hair, shaved, and all that other good stuff. Got to Firestone and did the interview. Got hired within 5 mins. He liked my portfolio, my dress, my attitude, everything! Wooohoooo!

Remember how he said he chose 2 people out of 12? Well, the other guy screwed up big time. He looked good on paper but did not look proffessional in person. I mean, his pants were below his waist, his hat was on sideways, and he came in and said, "Yo! I'm here for the interview, big man!" Well, that's what the interviewer said.

Finally I got a job. I wish it was when summer started though.
