Bikes weren't required to have cats back then. A lot of cars use this feature as well.

I seriously do not know why my threads are getting rated down. My build thread now has 3 stars. Am I doing something wrong? The lack of updates? What is it? Please tell me. I know it's the internet and all but it makes me feel like ****. I put A LOT of time and love into this bike.

sschering was over at my place real quick. Got myself 2 gas tanks, a tail piece, airbox (missing filter), a near complete set of electrics from an '82 GS1100E, and a 1978 Suzuki GS750 engine.

The GS750 engine will be for a go kart/dune buggy/quad (haven't decided which one yet). It has a kickstart!!! Not sure if I'll post progress here either.

So anyways, he was pulling out my fuses. Right when he pulled the main power fuse, all of the lights started working again. How are the lights working without a main power fuse??? Plugged the fuse back in and the lights still work. OK... Something isn't right there. Or maybe the fuse blades are dirty or the inside of the fuse block is dirty.

THe inside of the fuse box is probably melted

Could be! I'll take a look later today. And if it is melted, I have another fuse box to replace it.

My guess is posting before trying anything, I have no idea where you're looking at stars or how to rate your thread though, never cared too. It's kind of the difference between Twitter and a Forum. Twitter you post about doing stuff without actually doing anything, a forum you're supposed to do stuff until you get stuck, then post about it. That's my only guess though.

That's weird about the fuses, glad it's working though I guess.

Yeah, whatever. I'm not gonna post until I do something as you said. It may be a while....

Why are you worried about stars?this is not school and they really don't matter.I have no idea if any of my threads are starred and I don't star others threads, yours included. To not post because of this is.........silly IMHO.

No, I'm not posting because I am not doing anything with the bike.

I keep posting the exact same thing. "Oh hey, my lights work and now they don't." I went back into my thread and that's what I saw. No one wants to read the exact same thing all the time right?

i keep reading your thread stars or no stars... it's actually very rarely that threads are rated at all... so having people bother to give stars to your thread at all, i would take as a good thing

Don't stress the stars man.. I never pay much attention and just ramble on most of the time.. Nice meeting ya today.. Sorry I was in a rush to get back home and couldn't hang out longer.

That last fuse I pulled was the accessory power fuse..

Best I can figure it was just dirty contacts and re-seating the fuses got it working again.

OK Allen, I went and gave this thread a 5 star vote.....and guess what? Now the thread has a 4 star rating! That means that only a few people have even voted, if my vote could change it that much. Now quityourbitchen and fix the bike! Who cares how many stars you have?

                            And now it's almost 5

I'll fix the bike later. I have more important stuff to do right now (damn patches ).

Wiring harness and other electrical parts received from katman. This is from a 1983 Suzuki GS1100E.

Right after I cleaned it up.

Removed the old harness which came from an 80 or 81 GS1100E.

Then I stuck the 83 harness on. It went pretty good until I found some wires that are missing connectors. I need to go buy a crimper so that I can continue. The stator wiring, R/R wiring, and horn need connectors. Other than that, looks very good. I haven't looked at the headlight bucket wiring yet though....

A different fusebox has been installed too.

These came from sschering. It's not in the best condition. Just for mock up I guess lol. How's the champagne? I really like it! I just wish it was usable as is.
