      Yeah, those look exactly the same besides the color. How do you like them? Any idea who makes them?

        I forgot to pick this fairing up when I brought the bike over. So I picked it up today. For some reason, it was VERY hard to remove the bedliner off of the fairing compared to the other parts. I think this is a Tracy Series II fairing. I am undecided whether or not I'll use the fairing...

        More truck bed liner and mold!


        Halfway done.


        And just about finished. Still some bed liner on it. I kinda ruined the paint job. I was able to get the sticker off of the windshield though.


        Bad pictures of it mounted up.




        I was also able to get some air in the tires. No leaks. Also wire wheeled the brake rotor washers and bolts.


        Battery got here today. It's an AGM and measured at 12.94v out of the box!


        On the bike. There's my + battery cable with a missing connector. Still waiting for the other cable I ordered.

          Here is a bent shift rod. I ordered an OEM one.


          And this just looked wrong. So I ordered the rubber grommet for the seat lock.


          Thought I'd share this. Lots of info there! And 31,000 miles on the frame.


          And my little part of the garage. Such a small table.

            Nice to see you sort though some of the details. Do you have a plan of what to fix first or just sort of winging it? If not I would suggest at least making a crude order.

            For example no sense in making the body perfect if ultimately the engine will never run. This is a pretty big project to build a bike from boxes and a good plan will greatly help I'd think.

            As always keep up the good work, and keep learning as you do it. Thats the way to go!

              Yeah, I know. Right now, I'm not going to spend another dime until I can afford the running engine. But I have nothing to do right now so I'm just trying to see if something can be done with the body. I think I'll polish the footpegs and swingarm... by hand! That will keep me busy. And while I have the rear wheel off, might as well try to remove the red paint.

                Here's a comparison between my old + battery cable and the new one. That's why I bought another one instead of making one. It has the protective rubber boots and a wire for the fuse box.


                This is a really bad picture but I had to do it quick since I didn't want to kill the battery. Headlight, hi-beam, and hi-beam gauge light works.


                I did a very quick push of the starter button (like .0000001 secs) and the starter does work. But everything else does not... Why does only the headlight and starter work? My first reaction was checking the fusebox. The turn signal fuse was blown but that's all. I'll try replacing that fuse and see what happens.

                The tail light does not work either . The bulb on the bottom is blown but the bulb on top is still good...


                Looks like this bike has some electrical problems. I'll look into these problems later on when I get it running.

                  Started polishing the swingarm. This is what 10 mins of polishing by hand gives you. Still have a lot more polishing to do!


                  I'm not sure how to get the swingarm out without a centerstand so it will be tough to polish the rest of it.

                  I took the engine out from the frame. It was dead weight anyways .




                  I simply removed all of the bolts holding the engine down and the wires it was connected to then laid the bike on the side. It just slipped out nice and easy. Not a scratch on me or the bike . Then I dragged it 5 feet across the garage floor to where it is now.

                  Sorry for the boring updates. It's just a way to keep track of what I do everyday...

                    Can you fashion up a little stand for the rear of the bike so you can remove that swingarm? A jack with 2x4s or something?

                        Obviously not done yet. Towards the rear of the swingarm, there was clear coat or something which was un-polishable. I'll deal with that later. All polished by hand using Mother's and an old T-shirt. And the swingarm was still on the frame...

                            You mean use 00 steel wool to apply the Mother's instead of using an old t-shirt? I'll give it a try.

                            Sold the stator cover and complete bottom end today. Getting closer to my new engine .

                            Goes under the engine. So if I want to drain the oil or change the oil filter, I have to take the exhaust off . Well... I guess there's more cornering clearance .

                                The exhaust looks great! Elbow grease can do wonders for your bike. Looking forward to the post that has a new engine in it
