      Good to know.

Since I already have a new rear sprocket (42T), all I need is a front sprocket. How does this one look? Will I need any spacers or anything?

Here's the oil leaks. Not bad but I would rather have it not leaking oil . However, I WILL fix the valve and cam cover leaks. New valve cover gasket and half moon caps soon.

        Under the stator cover.

        Under the clutch cover.

Under all 4 cam cover caps. This is why the bike always smokes up when I first start it up.

This is why my steering lock doesn't work. Part of the frame broke off...

This bike looks fast standing still.

Check out that low flying airplane. I have to deal with that noise EVERY DAY! Most of them fly a bit lower than that...

I lived on an approach for a jet fighter squadron when I was a boy.
Now that was loud! They could not have been higher than 500 feet.

Get new gaskets and clean the mating surfaces.
I know guys here have the idea that you can save a gasket for re-use by applying grease to it. But gaskets do not seal well unless things are dry.
Grease will allow oil to wick across the joint causing slow seepage.

Is a fabulous product that will seal oil wonderfully.
It is soluble in alcohol so you can use it fearlessly on cases as it is cleaned easily. I had a stripped valve train cover bolt hole once. You could not get enough clamping force to seal things but this product worked.
              Very nice indeed.
As with all things apply sparingly.

Thanks Jeep! I'll check it out.

I just looked up the VIN for the GS1100E.

It is not stolen, has no defects, and is a GS1100ESD . Well, the frames are exactly the same so whatever.

What does it mean when odometer status says E?

I'm searching for the previous owner's. I want to talk to the person that did all of this work. Any suggestions on how to find them?

Battery got here. The same AGM I had before. Charged at 12.97v out the box! I couldn't resist so I tried to start the bike up and wow! It did! Pulled out my multimeter, revved it up to 5,000 RPM and the battery is at 14.6v . At idle, it's about 13.7v. I thought the R/R was toast? I must have done the tests wrong.... I don't know.

But the important thing is, it's alive again! Now I can try and find out what the hell is going on with my lights.

These batteries come with a warranty!

lol, I'll be sure not to toast the battery again. New R/R is on the way but it will take a while to get here (overseas).

I have chased my tail with the charging system for a while in that it would work to spec when in neutral gear, but when under the load it would malfunction... and i discovered this by riding around with the voltmeter connected and placed on top of the tank, taking the readings at various rpm's... just saying...

Comes with a warranty only works a few times before the seller catches on.\
Good news for the rectifier and having all the other bits running.

Show us some pictures of the wire hack job.

Good call! I think that's what happened with my GS450. Everything was fine in neutral but as I rode it, things went very bad .

I'll go for a quick ride around my neighborhood. Good thing I have alligator clips and duct tape!

Z1 sells aftermarket rubber half-moons that work very well... much cheaper than OEM. I've used them on several bikes with no issues.

You really want to see pictures? Basically, he hooked up the stator and R/R into the wrong places. And he cut one wire from the R/R and connected it somewhere it shouldn't be.
