Thanks guys. I'm pretty pleased so far. Polishing's next, satin black on the backs, then back to vmass..who I hope is only kidding about the shop rags.... Microfiber, my friend, microfiber......you must take an oath to use only microfiber towels from this day forth.

Larry..Have I gone too far by giving each of the bikes their own blanket so they dont even get dust on them?? Seriuosly..they all have their own blankets.

Too funny, Chuck. Are they microfiber blankets..? I made you take the same oath if I remember correctly.

Well, as long as you drag all of that road dirt and grime mixed with chain lube on the clear coat, you should be good to go.

I guess it'll be OK..... A soft cotton sheet would even be alright as long as you're not polishing the paint with it. Microfiber is a miracle product. It's made preserving nice paint so incredibly easy. I've never used anything else since discovering it.

This is after I replaced the decals with the painted graphics..mmmm..looks good in satin.

That satin would look great on a cafe project...

No worries Larry... micro fiber it is.

I have gone over and over in my head, the task of installing the tank.

You know, when you plce the tank and then lift it up a little, and then a little more to get the fuel line on. You always try to stop before you here that metal on paint noise coming from the front of the tank.

Well, I'm definately going to take some extra precautions

                            Larry,

What do you recommend for cleaning/waxing, other than the use of micro-fiber?

Any wait time before its first wax?

I always recommend using, specifically, Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze. It's perfect for polishing fresh paint because it doesn't have any silicon in it to prevent the paint from breathing. The paint will be curing for at least 90 days, so..no wax of any kind..until early March. The Meguiar's can be used as often as you want and will keep the paint looking nice. You can buy it (and the microfiber towels) at any Auto Zone, Pep Boys, O'Reilly's, those sorta places, 7-8 bux a bottle, but it goes a long way. I really like Meguiar's products. When it comes time to wax it, their Carnuba wax, #26, is excellent.

Vmass' body parts are all done. Always nice to see another GS1000S being restored. That makes 6 that I've painted (and please tell me if you're getting tired of seeing them..) with another one coming from NY soon. I believe there's definitely a long-over-due resurgence in this bike's popularity.

                                Thanks for the business, Rich!
