Thats a pretty good tip about the lantern battery's! I'll have to keep that in mind in case I ever find myself in a similar situation.

I still have so much I want to do to it! I did slide the forks a little over an inch through the triple trees to lower the front just a hair and I must say that tiny bit made a huge difference in the quickness of the handling! I'm ready to get my lathe up and going so I can make what I need to adapt a 19 for the rear and start on some engine work!

Mate that's handy advice indeed! Good to know an emergency solution is so simple and handy

Put together a 2 into 1 header tonight. Rode it unbaffled and it pulls HARD and sounds great! Gonna work on a slip on pipe and muffler tomorrow
I know it's no where near as nice as pete's, but hey it took like an hour haha

It was about $4. haha
Rode the bike to work this morning... Longest ride I've had since I've added the front brake, 2into1 exhaust, and 14t front sprocket. Rides great, pulls harder than a 450 should, and sounds pretty racey now... overall pretty awesome. In the near future I'm going to have to make some type of small front fender as it likes to rain most days right about the time I leave work... and I'm going to go to some foam UNI filters instead of the pods...

Man am I seeing things or have you added some paint to the tail and a seat pad??
Definitely sounds like you're having a blast on it now, good to see!
And man, that's a cheap exhaust!!!! Wonder what Mr Tranzac would have to say if I asked for a refund? hahaha1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

Be careful with the Uni's...I live in Florida and I can tell you that they soak up water like a sponge (bada tish!).
I normally just think screw it, and pull off and wait out the rain, it's better than popping and sputtering down the road because my pods are soaked.

No water cover that I know of. I know that Uni makes covers for K&N's though.

Yep, you can definitely get a cover for the K&N's.
I contemplated it, then said bugger it, mine won't end up a daily rider unless I change jobs to somewhere that's nowhere near the train line, so chances are pretty slim I'll be riding in the rain.1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

I check the weather every morning... and that 10% chance has gotten me rained on 90% of the time haha... Usually it's just a quick storm, but I still get soaked ha

Hahaha I've given up listening to the weather reports, I find the head out the window gauge is far more accurate...1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie
