Per Ivors suggestion I added a sky hook to counteract any possible un-for-seen lateral forces .

The wife and I wrapped it in plastic tonight.

Need to pick up a high efficiency pleated furnace filter and hang the door tomorrow. The plan is to put a box fan on the outside of the booth and blow the air through the filter. Between that, wetting down the floor and hitting the plastic with an anti-static spray, that should hopefully keep the the dust to a minimum.

Hm, I don't see any structural bracing in the roof framing... I would be concerned that strong lateral forces may compromise the integrity of the build...

    (just joking)

Didn't get a chance to wrap the booth in plastic. Reconfigured it a bit to allow for a door instead of just a plastic flap. Moved things around in the garage and vacuumed the floor. I'll wrap it tomorrow. Dog tired today..

Yep. Paint all the pieces then assemble it. Tomorrow I'll start sanding on the cam cover in between hanging the plastic on the 'booth' and painting Star's pieces.

Nice!!! Gonna paint the halves before any reassembly i assume??? Probably best move to prevent grease recontamination to the cases???

Power washed and scrubbed in the laundry tub twice. Thoroughly scuffed it down with a red scotch-brite until all corrosion is gone. Degreased and almost ready for paint. Can't wait for the lower to come back from the welder.

One thing I know for certain, I know I'll be fearful of scratching it when it's finally finished.

Drill, center punch, sharp punch, countersink, robertson and straight drive tips and about a hours worth of work.

The case paint is glossy so the Eastwood engine paint might even be a closer match than I had originally suspected.

Upper engine case is all sanded ready to be put in the laundry tub for the third time.

Lower engine case is at the welders.

Dealing with more broken crap. See my post in the engine section asking for pictures.

On the positive side my temp paint booth is nearly finished.

If it wasn't for that broken off boss on the sprocket side, i would have just JB welded the damage from the outside.

Bummer Dale. Should be easy enough to fix though.

Bolt poked the hole thru the inside where its more visible...it will leak all the way around the dimple the bolt made. The bolts are side specific due to length...dont mix them up like whoever did this has done.
